Right there with you... there are a bunch of 2015s in stock on Apple's refurb site as of today, interesting pretty much everyone in the last week or two has ended up with 2016/17s.

Which LA store did you go to? I went to The Grove on Monday, CC info was taken on Wednesday, and my card was charged yesterday morning.

Grove too. Tuesday/Wed/Friday.

From what I could gather b/c we have dGPUs, we will get the 2016. That seems to be the trend but i don't want to get my hopes up. I mean i'd be completely happy with the 2015 rmbp w/ a dGPU cause its still a significant upgrade from my 2012. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

It was Covent Garden, but at this point I don't think I want to try again... she briefly mentioned that a few days ago there was a scheme to replace batteries and that it's not there anymore.

I had confirmation yesterday that I will get a replacement battery for free but I had gone into the store on Tuesday (before the deadline and it seems may have been eligible for a replacement model if a decision had been made on the day). Not sure if that made a difference but I suspect it may have done. Arguably your battery didn’t change since Tuesday but it’s awkward sometimes having to argue your case, especially when you know that your device is 5 years old.
 
Just spoke with my local store - they are saying that they are still waiting on head office to make a decision - the parts are apparently unconstrained now so they need approval from the top in order to replace my machine.

They said it's 50/50 but they are pushing for a replacement as that was what was originally agreed.

I talked with a senior advisor from Apple yesterday. He contact the dispatch department for me to ask any update. The dispatch staff told him this case is still in process, meaning not shipped out yet. Even my cc got charged on Friday, seems like nothing has shipped out.

Oh wow, I went in on the 25th totally unaware of the offer beforehand. Would be a shame if they try and go back on it.

If they did I would argue it at least, they've entered in to a contract with us, signed for the replacement and I was even told the specs for the machine they had allocated me... Not very fair to go that far then go back on their word.
 
I'm not expecting anything to be honest, if I get a replacement it'll be a bonus :)

I do need my battery replaced though so hopefully they'll replace that for free even if the refurbishment isn't available.

As others have mentioned most 2015 models don't have dGPUs and IMO, this is the reason why most are getting touch bar models.
 
I was notified by my bank that I was charged Friday morning. Hopefully, I hear from them tomorrow and that didn't change the work order.

Unfortunately can't pick it up until tuesday, so here is to hoping something wont change until then.

Has anyone received a 2015 since lets say the 15th? I kind of want the 2015, since I don't want to deal with dongles just yet.

I have to say, I was in the same boat as you but I am very happy with my touch bar model. The keyboard is awesome and it stays much cooler and quieter due to the significantly more efficient processor. The dongles due suck but I'll take the tradeoff for now. It'll only get better in the future.

Haha, good luck to you too! I just want to know what's going to happen, the suspense is killing me. Also, my charger died yesterday, what timing.
 
Took mine in a few weeks back while people were getting 2016/2017 tb models like they were going out of style.

Had dGPU.

Crossed my fingers and...

Refurb 2015 w/ dGPU. Happy, but would have been nice to get that sexy space grey.

you got the 2015 w/ gpu a few weeks ago? or like today? what SSD size did you have?

I hear you. I’m content with the 2015 but would be even more grateful for a 2016 model :)

Regardless I’m happy to be getting an upgrade

I just picked up my replacement from the Apple Store this afternoon and just restored from a backup.

2016 Touch Bar 2.7ghz i7, 16gb, 512gb ssd in Space Gray! Very happy about it!

How were you notified that it was ready for pickup? Email or phone call? Congrats on the new laptop man
