So the endless and mindless refreshing of the Store page can start now?

no one is saying that that the imac will be released today everyone is talking about the invitation which are suppose to go out today. In my opinion its seems like this invitation thing today seems not to be legit.

Yes..I am doubting it too and even when it appears I seriously doubt it will be iMac related.

(* - "Solid State Drive" has completely lost the meaning of "drive". Like "film" when referring to movies, I'm making a concerted effort to eradicate it from my vocabulary.)

I find it handy to use "flash" when it's exposed on a daughterboard (like the MBA/rMBP) and "SSD" when it's enclosed and has a standard SATA port. But maybe that's just me.

so jim dalrymple says "its a quiet day today" see what he did there, it seems the invitations are not going out today.

Just as likely he's having a laugh. Step away from the ledge.

i could be very wrong at this but since the first time i heard that this ipad mini event would be on a wenesday i was weird it out but one can only hope, if recall right apple usually does their events on tuesdays the only reason why they didnt do them on tuesday on the last event it was because that tueday fell the same day as sep 11 so it was kinda weird i assume for them that they would release products that day hence moving that to the next day.

They're a bit less consistent on the events. For example, the "Back to the Mac" event last year was a Thursday.

John Lewis UK online.

iMac stock. ZERO 0 non. Etc.

Over the last few weeks they have had the odd one of each model, but no tonight.

yeah, invitations are probably not coming today. And IF they do, they won´t reveal anything about iMacs. And IF we see ipad minis this month (which just as well might come next year - regular february ipad release ?), it´s mostly not likely followed by iMacs....we know nothing :(. iPad minis have been rumoured to death before without anything happening. Who knows, maybe apple is done for 2012, that all the "great stuff we can look forward to" was the rMBP and the obvious iPhone only? Could be they are postponed ipad minis because of production quantity problems.
Apple is driving me nuts these days!!!....its like this super slow (mostly referring to desktops), secretive machinery were everything (at least based on rumours) is being delayed over and over again and nothing is based on regular timeframes (except iphones of course).

lets wait and see brother, my dead line is next month, this the second week of october, kuo said late october, i havent given up hope yet, and yes this sucks but who knows next tuesday could be the date, im sick and tired of hearing next tuesday but who knows it might come when we are least expecting them. Also im not to sold on these ipad mini stuff, for some reason i dont understand why apple would release them this month and then have another ipad event at the beginning of next year doesnt it make more sense to have both ipads at the same event, a new new ipad and the ipad minis, idk but dont give up just yet.

I figure cutoff at mid nov. So anyone waiting should get one by then.

They have done OCT and NOV releases. Dec and Jan are much more unlikely. I have to say I am more for a mini then an iMac but I am thinking the same with them.

Mid Nov or bust.

So does my BTO 2011 13" macbook pro have flash storage or an SSD? Is it on a daughterboard like the MBA/rMBP or is it enclosed with a standard SATA port? Just curious.

Whether or not I get a 2012 iMac has less to do with when it releases (unless it never releases which isn't out of the question ha...) but more to do with what it actually is... If its just a spec bump I won't even consider it.

No invitation.
We are really great to wait what it won't never come out, such as Imacs,minis..
attention or respect for their old pro users which stupidly wait for a..sign.
Maybe its funny for them throwing a whispers or just nothing to see what we are going to taylor with it.
Apple give us a..sign ..if this still worths something...ss ssorry don't wanna ask that much...got,,gotta go..i leave the light on..for..,ok..bye.

It's a standard SSD form factor, just like the desktops, so it easily interchanges in the existing drive bay/SATA port in the machine.

I'll tell you one thing: Figure it out on you own from everything you read. Don't look to Kuo. (I'd use the eye-roll emoticon here but it looks too happy. I would use the F-off eye roll) Find someone with a track record better than a dollar-store psychic shooting in the dark.

Don't worry we WILL se a refreshed iMac in 2012. I have yet to walk into any third-party reseller with normal stock levels. It's been like this for a few weeks. This has nothing to do with not being able to keep up with the demand for the 2011 iMacs.

As long as Apple hasn't made a statement explaining the stock shortage, it means we will get an imminent refresh.

So, u guys -- we have nothing to worry about!:apple:

Ok, looking bad with invitations... But nevertheless Im all in for this month. Even if there's no event.
iTunes 11 comes this month, that's said and so the iMac will launch with it side by side just on apples front page - 16./23./30. october!

13" rMBP and iPad mini WILL launch very soon, Apple wont miss the holiday season shopping rush, even if stocks are limited.
iMac... it will either refresh soon or it wont! :D. and we will know soon, stock levels wont remain as they are, either a restock of old model or a new iMac. Again, resellers wont not carry stock for the holiday season.

I'm hoping that Apple leaves the ram user replaceable and not soldered like MBP, or I'll just go ahead and buy the 2011 model and max it out at 32GB on the cheap from crucial. No way I'm paying Apple's ram upgrade prices
