Kirk Nieuwenhuis just hit his 3rd HR in 3 ABs today, first Met to ever hit 3 HRs in a home game. Their last 15 runs (going back to the 9th inning in SF on Wed) have scored on HR's.

Umm, there were a couple records set/broken in the first half. Kirk with the 3 HR's in a game at home, Matz with his 3-hit 4-RBI debut. I'm pleased with how the first half turned out but they really need the bats to wake up on a consistent basis.

I wouldn't call 1 game out of the WC "out of the playoff picture". Sure, if the playoffs were to start today they wouldn't be playing but there are still 75 games left.
haters gonna hate. im surprised with a comment like that from a baseball thread starter? you know better than that buddy, this is baseball, it aint over till the fat lady sings. This is only the first half, there is still many games to be played...When a team is 1 game away from 1st place and its half way thru the season, they are definitely in the "playoff picture" so far.
The White Sox always, always,always where the black uniforms on the road. They look awful. The black pinstripes (about as old as the Yankee pinstripes btw) look awesome and those Greta (lose the hats) look great, but the black softball jerseys look awful.

You skipped probably the MOST impressive showing from a pitcher. deGrom was lights-out. Good morning, good afternoon good night to 3 batters with only ONE non-strike pitch. I believe the word FILTHY was used several times to describe his performance...
i hate any and all all star games and especially would have hated that game last night if i'd known pete was doing the commentary. seems some folks are trying to get him back in the game. it is ill advised.
