Ferrari's top the Mercs in practice. Hamilton with a 5 place grid penalty for a gear box change.
Could make for an exciting race on Sunday if practice is the same as qualifying. I won't hold my breath though.

Haha not holding my breath either. I can see a Ferrari win though. Merc seems to throw a race or two over the year when they've shown too much power in the race before.

So well done Daniel Riccardo. Great effort in a slower car.
However I'm not sure it will make for a great race. I predict Nico will drive off and we won't see him again (especially as he will be starting on better tyres than those behind him).
Lewis is getting all the bad luck this year. Hopefully we will see him doing a lot of overtakes from the back. But realistically he's not going to get right to the front.
A splash of rain might make things interesting.

What a lap by Ricciardo! It's shame Vettel sat there for 10 minutes in Q3 and when he went out he couldn't deliver. It was even nice to see Kimi on pole for a while. He's approaching the record of most consecutive races without a pole start.

As somebody who has followed Hamilton for years but has become bored watching him clean up for 2 seasons, I couldn't be happier seeing him challenge from the back for once.
I'd agree to a degree but I tipped my hat to the maturity he showed when interviewed.

I would imagine he will relish the challenge. I want to see one of the best drivers on the grid remind us of how good he is and work his way through the field tomorrow. If anything I think quite a bit of pressure is off him now with 3 world titles so he can enjoy fighting, plus the season is still young.

Hamilton's great now. I didn't care much for him before. Always with that pickle up his.. But now I like him. He has good Insta posts and his snapchat is awesome.

We'll see with Vettle racing.
No pretty sure Nico was coasting!

It's a shame we didn't get to see Hamilton drive up the grid with out a damaged car.
Great start for Ricardo and such a shame he got a puncture. Mind you RBR still got an unexpected podium.

Given how many collisions there were, really suprised everyone made it home.
Williams were a big disappointment. With those engines they should be doing much better.
To keep the championship interesting, we could do with a couple of DNF's for Nico.

Did you see the interview with rob? There trying to spend wisely as there's not a lot in the pot. Aero updated for Russia.

I certinly saw the interview that Vettel had with Kvyat! What a bully. Does he expect people to stop and let him by because he won the championship a few years ago?

Should have a watch of the drivers press conference. Kvyat sticks up for himself

Will do. Good job to.
I think vettel was seeing something others aren't personally. Yes when you watch the in car footage he was boxed in but it was his team mate not kvyat. Kvyat's comment about using his brake was funny.

Rough weekend for Grosjean.

Also, for the first time in a while, McLaren is the problem with McLaren Honda. That Honda power plant is clearly the third best on the track now ahead of Renault. The car just isn't good enough.

I'd have to disagree. The McLaren Mercedes was never as good as Williams and that was only 3 seasons back.

Either way, McLaren knows what they're doing from an engine standpoint. They are essentially a factory team with sole possession of the Honda engine, putting them well ahead of the customer teams.
