Ordered: 3/30
Status changed to preparing to ship: 4/12
Shipped: 4/14
Delivery estimate: 4/20 (two days later than original window of 4/11-4/18) to Japan via DHL

i7/16/1TB/silver

I hope that’s a conservative shipping estimate and it arrives before the weekend. Several USA orders are suddenly getting the same delivery estimate from the looks of it. However the distance from China to destination doesn’t seem to be a reliable predictor of shipping time.

My delivery date just got pushed way out. Originally April 17-24, now May 4-11. Still “processing”. This for an order that was placed on March 29.

In light of that, I just canceled my order. At this point I may as well just see what the next 13 or 14 MBP looks like.

Update: mine just moved to “Preparing to Ship”!
Mine is out for delivery. So my updated timeline is:

-March 25 Ordered an i5/16GB/512GB in Silver. Initial Shipping estimate from Apple was April 10-17.
-April 2 Credit card charged but Apple order status still reads still reads “Order in Progress”.
-April 7 Status moves to “preparing to ship”
-April 8 status moves to “shipped”. Shipping label created in “EPZ” China and waits to go through customs
-April 10 Arrives in “Chek Lap Kok” HK and sits there until
-April 13 leaves HK, arrives in “Taoyuan” TW and then leaves later, where it quickly moves overnight to Anchorage AK > Louisville KY > Newark NJ, and finally NYC this morning April 14, and is out for delivery. Note the Apple order status shipping estimate STILL says April 10-17

Pretty crazy how much time it spent in Asia and then just flew (literally) as soon as it hit US soil.

Mine went from HK to Dubai to Cologne in one day, and left Cologne this morning at 4AM and they're saying I'll have it by EOD tomorrow!

Yours will probably follow the same I reckon! I'm getting excited now!

Hey, Jackorias, just out of interest - how close to the airport/ UPS hub are you?

I see UPS have landed and left Dubai within 2 hours... quick turnaround.

Just adding my schedule below to support the general consensus that the shipping process is slower than many of our previous Apple experiences (for obvious pandemic reasons):

Config - i5/16GB/1TB [very excited to upgrade from my 2012 Air]

Ordered Mar 25 (processing); delivery estimate Apr 10-17
Card charged Apr 3 (processing)
Moved to preparing to ship (Apr 7)
Shipped (Apr 9); delivery estimate updated to Apr 20 :(

Fingers crossed that the actual delivery date is earlier, as other folks have reported!

Update:
4/9-4/11: customs in Hong Kong
4/13: departed Taiwan>Alaska>Louisville (gotta love the international dateline!)
4/14: out for delivery (DC)

Ordered i5/16GB/512GB on April 3rd, Delivery Estimate April 14th - 21st. No progress whatsoever- still in "processing". I'll cancel if they postpone the order, as I really just needed a Chromebook for the kids but decided I would upgrade the wife's computer (2015 Air) since the shipping times for all decent chrome books were farther out than this. I know these are crazy times, but I'm still disappointed.

Yeah, I just wanted to upgrade my Air since I'm working from home now. Given the lack of any movement whatsoever on the order for 2+ weeks now, and the delivery being pushed out to a month-and-a-half post-order date, I am not very confident that new May 4 - May 11 timeframe wouldn't have slipped as well.

You might want to consider just getting one from Bestbuy, even a openbox. You can get it in 2 days if its the spec you are looking for. The only model that I can't get that I had ordered was the 512gb with the 16gb. If I was cool with just 8gb I would have already ordered it from BB.

Much quicker turn around than mine in Dubai! Mine was there for 11 hours. (May be less, I'm not sure about the timezones)

Mine has landed at 'Stanford-Le-Hope' which Google tells me is 211 miles away in Essex! I'm then 9 miles away from my local UPS Depot in Leeds.

Fairly confident mine will be here tomorrow now!

It sure looks like it will be with you tomorrow. You’ve done as much research as me! I don’t think I’ve ever cared so much, I guess it’s all the extra time I have on my hands. I did some researching and it seems the UPS flight from Cologne lands in Dublin around 2am tonight / tomorrow morning. I’m in Dublin so I am hoping the they’ll be able to get it on a truck by the time they’re heading out for deliveries tomorrow morning! Fingers and toes crossed 😁

Just got it now. Ordered 3-20-2020 i7/16/1TB/SG, Original delivery estimate was last week. Shipped 2 weeks ago from factory!
I really think UPS accidentally shipped it back from South Korea to China and then back again. Either way it delayed the laptop by at least a week because of that mistake.

Preparing to ship: 4/10
Shipped: 4/12 via UPS
Carrier estimated delivery: 4/20
Apple’s delivery window: 4/17- 4/24
Destination: California / USA

I paid the $5 on 4/12 to UPS to move the delivery date to 4/14 but then UPS said “couldn’t intercept package” so delivery date is back to 4/20.

This mornings update was the one I was waiting for.... Out for delivery... 27 hours ago it was in Hong Kong. Impressive work on the UPS side.
I used to work for UPS loading the planes and it would always blow my mind a specific package, mixed with millions of other packages, was able to logistically make it to the other side of the world within 24 hours.

Enjoy your new Mac!

Thanks buddy!

It’s mind boggling how they do it! I saw a documentary a few years ago on discovery (I think it was) and it showed the conveyor belts and technology behind how they do it and I was in awe.. incredible stuff.
