A lot of people have anointed Daniels the next Chosen One, after his performance this season and against the Lions.

That could very well turn out to be true, but it's still premature. Stroud was in a similar situation last season, but regressed this season (which the Texans have blamed on their now former OC).

First up, he'll have to beat the #1 defense of the Eagles, and Vic Fangio, which will be harder than going against the depleted defense of the Lions. People, including those here, were pointing to that as their Achilles heel, and it was.

In that game, the Lions offense did what they've done all season, putting up 30+ points and 500+ yards against the Commanders. But, five turnovers and the weakened defense gave the Commanders, who were also playing with house money and had nothing to lose, the opening, and they took advantage of it.

The Eagles are better on paper, and if they control the pace of the game with Barkley, and their defense plays to expectation, they'll win. Daniels and the offense can't beat them if they spend more time sitting on the bench than they did against the Lions, who fell behind and couldn't catch up. But, if Daniels is behind, can he lead them from that situation? Many think he has the poise to do so, but we shall see.

Buffalo can, and has beaten KC…in the regular season. If they take that same mindset into this game, they can do it, but it won't be easy. Hard enough to beat Mahomes already, and there can't be any doubts going into this game, or they'll doom themselves already.

Hopefully, they'll be good games.

Some may see it as a retread, but I think that's a good hire. He's experienced, and knows how to coach a team, and build a winning culture, and has done it in both college and the pros. The biggest questions are if the organization, which chews up and spits out people, will allow him to do it on his terms, and if he's still up for the challenge at his age. He'll be 77 by the time the full term of his contract expires.

Schottenheimerwon't be able to claim he didn't know what he was getting into with Jerry and the Cowboys.

Saleh back to his old haunt as SF DC, but is it possible to go home again and find success? He had better players the in his first stint.

Schottenheimer - His dad should have warned him off that job lol.

I hope he's good at blocking out distractions, because short of winning the SB, it's only a matter of time before the Coach Prime rumors will heat up again. And at that point, he may have tired enough of the college thing to actually pursue it.

OTOH, Deion is as self-centered and attention-seeking as Jerry is, but might be smart enough to not want to share that stage.

I knew Snyder was disliked, but the extent was surprising:

But he's got many reason$ to not care.

Just when the refs in the last game give hope for a fair game, the refs in this one make every call (or lack thereof) in critical situations in favor for the Bills. :( They really do not want the Chiefs in the SB.

Maybe I am missing something but it feels the other way around. The Chiefs got away with an incomplete counting as a complete pass. Also few minutes later before they scored the third TD you can see Kelsey clearly holding someone while Mahomes gets some yardage.

Many holdings and facemasks not called. Mahomes had his hand on the ball, but was given as turnover. Allen fumbled, KC player had hand on the ball, no turnover. Several badly placed balls on 4th try. Luckily the DJ got it right over the LJ one time.

Edit: It was a complete pass, as control of the ball was mid air and both defensive player and receiver had their hands on the ball. In such a situation the ball goes to the offense.

Kudos to the ref(s) who didn’t give the flag that one ref threw for roughing the passer on the last Bills drive at 4th and 6 (?). That would have given the Bills a new first down. At least some refs are taking their jobs seriously.

So it’s Chiefs vs Eagles. Rematch of SB LVII.

I think the Eagles have a great chance to win because they don't need to depend on Jalen Hurts to play hero ball, thanks to the amazing running of Saquon Barkley. Eagles 30, Chiefs 24.

Many are sick of KC, they've become the villains, get the refs' calls etc.…

But, you've got to respect them for how well-coached they are, and their ability to make plays when needed.

That's what they're really good at, better than the rest of the teams, including the Bills.

It's no surprise, and almost expected for Mahomes to kill you with a good play. They've done it repeatedly, including in the SB last season to snatch the win, and if the Eagles can't stop them from making those plays, it will probably end in the Three-peat™ that much of America doesn't want to see.

Eight or nine teams have had the chance. But it was the Eagles who ended the last attempt by beating the Pats.

I don't cheer for either Chiefs or Eagles.....but given that no team has ever won 3 Super Bowls in a row, I'm not going to be negative if they make history. They're a remarkable team.

KC caught a huge break when the refs didn't agree on the spot of the ball on that 4th and 1 try by the Bills.
The problem with the refs is, that you never know what you get. That was obvious yesterday several times placing the ball. The same ref who immediately throw the flag for roughing the passer when Allen passed the ball at 4th and 6, also placed the ball always in favor for the Bills. I'd really like to have access to the conversations of the refs to hear how they figure this out. I also wonder how the red flag challenge was done, after the Chiefs made the next play. You either throw the flag before the next play or it's over and the chance is gone.

This goes even deeper when you think about the Eagles. Why is "Big Dom" still part of the team? The guy has a mafia connection. Former players and staff said he can make "worries", as in legal problems, go away. Such as tickets for speeding or parking fines. He's the go-to-guy for everything, which would be ok, as long as it's legal. There have been rumours about interactions with refs in Philly to win games. If I were a ref in Philly with the mafia breathing down my neck...

So why is this guy still there and why is he always following Sirianni onto the field shaking hands after a game? He's not a player and not coaching staff. That's really odd.

Oh and as for the game. I'd like to see a fair game, not decided by the refs. And also not decided by Eagles player injuring other players, as we've seen in the past. Now that there's a chance to see a 3-peat in my lifetime, go for it. Also because the Eagles fans are the worst in sports (not just the NFL).

So I'm gonna go with Eagles vs. Chiefs. (Winner in bold)

Once they got there, I'd like to see no injuries for the Niners next season and finally win the SB.

Not watching the SB this year. I’ll find something else to do on 2/9.
As much as I hate seeing the Chiefs in it again... I was pretty happy that they beat the Bills. As a division rival I could not stand watching the Bills going to the SB..... That being said I am going to watch the SB because these are 2 really good teams and there are some intriguing story lines..... I am happy for Saquon, Chiefs could make history, etc...

I don't buy in to the whole conspiracy theory about the refs favoring the chiefs and the NFL wanting swifties watching the SB, etc... I think its all just the bitterness that develops when a team is really good... People did the same thing with the Patriots when they were on their run.... Remember how people hated the Patriots, and there was an uproar about Brady getting calls blah blah blah...... Any team that has sustained success always becomes the hated villain, because quite frankly people don't want to see someone else doing THAT well, It's human nature.

You're not wrong.

I do feel there is a little more bias than you want to admit when it comes to protecting Mahomes though.

I also feel like #15 gets more calls than Brady ever did.

But I do agree it does boil down to what feels like sour apples more than anything else.

I'll watch the game for sure.

I think there are bad/missed calls in every game.

But now that this is in the national narrative, calls involving Mahomes and the Chiefs are amplified more than they should be.

I still think Allen had the 1st Down though.

If you pay attention to how they play, you'll notice that Mahomes lacks the sportmanship Tommy had. Tommy never flopped, never intentionally try to draw a foul. For all his off field flaws, Tommy played a clean game.

He also never pretended he was going out of bounds and then turned it up for 10 more yards.

They probably need to modify the rule that when a QB is headed out of bounds, just blow the whistle like he is sliding. Consider him to have given up.

My new name for the KC team is the Kansas City Cheats...
You are stuck in a logic trap. ;)Hypothetically, if the Chiefs are cheating, there is no reason to root for the Eagles. They can’t win. Eagles could only win if the Chiefs are not cheating.

Well, Mahomes moves more and also out of the pocket in a single game than Brady did in his whole career. Brady was as mobile as an IKEA bookshelf.

Patriots did have de-inflation Gate. 🙃
I agree that any team that wins too much becomes highly disliked, even hated.
In the KC- Bills game, I thought the contested interception should have gone to the Bills. I could not determine if Allen made the first down or not. In a previous game, a foul was called on a player who hit Mahomes after the whistle was called that I viewed as his momentum only, should not have been called.

Yet, through out the season, KC had some lucky breaks that resulted in wins, but ultimately Mahomes is a great talent and threat. He consistently makes huge plays, easily argued he is the most talented QB presently playing. And yes, he does have competition.

This is true. Brady was such a precision timing passer and got the ball out quickly. Didn't even have time to scramble around the way he ran the offense.
