Do you need OS X 10.6 to open this? I've downloaded from multiple sources, but every time I try to open greenpois0n it keeps crashing and never opens.
If you need an unlock be careful how you get to 4.2.1. The team said it was best if you restored fresh to 4.2.1, although others have said they've rolled over a previous jailbreak from redsn0w. Haven't seen any limera1n comments. They do use the same exploit so maybe it doesn't matter.
They said you need to be on 4.2 already. If you don't want to restore I would shift+click Update instead of Restore to upgrade to 4.2.1. Then JB with Greenpois0n. I successfully updated to this untethered JB from a tethered 4.2.1. Cydia works fine.
If he needs an unlock he has to wait for pawnage tool to update.

am i the only one who succefully jb but have nothing under the loader app? no cydia no nothing other than the option to remove the loader app
EDIT: nvm after like the 20 try opening and closing the app cydia finally appear but i'm getting a (NSURLErrorDomain error) when i try to install cydia

Anyone having any issues with Loader? I can't even get it to pull up Cydia. I have restarted and what not.
EDIT: Finally got it.. we'll see if it works.
For me to get it jailbroken I had to:
On a fresh install of 4.2.1
1. Run GP via terminal
2. Hold home button after DFU begins
3. Rapidly tap sleep button on white screen
4. Edit hosts file to append apple gs line
Not sure what is actually making a difference.. but hey, it's jailbroken!
EDIT: Finally got it.. we'll see if it works.

Everybody get a good night's sleep and try this again in the morning. The server demand has to slow eventually. It took me 5 times to get cydia to finally download.
Oddly enough, rebooting and running gp as root (sudo command) worked. Weird.
Edit: The 'loader' app isn't able to load its sources... my guess is that it's because of the number of people trying to use it. It's weird that cydia isn't already installed.

For those having trouble getting Cydia via the GP Loader, just let redsn0w install it (don't choose the Monte option)

FML! After like 20 times, I got GP to JB the phone.
After another HOUR, I got Cydia to start downloading via Loader.app.
Then, at 60% (20 minutes into the download), it says COMPLETE. Yet, it didnt ****ing complete. White Cydia icon, and it doesn't load at all - doesnt even open an app (IE, for 0.0005 seconds, it flashes like its going to open an app, and crashes).
I think I have to re-restore to get rid of Cydia (as Loader.app says "Cydia is already installed!"), am i correct?

i stop waiting for the useless loader app to install cydia.
use resn0w and just select the install cydia option.
took like 1 min.
i still have the untether jailbreak and now i have cydia.
i recommend ppl that are not having any luck with the loader app to try this

What is different about your method in terms of holding down the home button from the instructions in the JB?
