Your almost there!! KEEP HOLDING THE HOME BUTTON DOWN! Took me a couple tries. After going into DFU mode you won't release the home button until the greenpoison skull is rotating.
 
LOL @ how fail the Dev-Team is right now. They spent months preparing this and making it perfect and testing it and look, maybe 1:30 users has gotten in working with no problems. We can only pray GeoHot saves the day once again!

yeah, they probably wanted to get it out before most people blindly update to 4.3 when it's out in the next week or so. It's just frustrating for me because usually these are a piece of cake for me and I can't figure out why GP keeps crashing. :confused:

kept getting this, then i switched usb ports and it worked fine

You can also go to terminal, do "sudo open" then drag greenp0ison.app in, and run it like that.
 
I tried opening GP and it crashes. I tried sudo open in Terminal and dragged GP into Terminal and I got this:

anyone been able to get this to work on a new bootrom 3GS , i get gp to work with terminal but keep on getting an "error , no sucessfull firmware download after 6000 ms!!! Giving up..."

My BB is 1.59.00 and I want to preserve it, so just to make sure...

After starting the TSS Server in TU, do I shift/option click update? or restore? In previous threads I read to click update, but semaphore tweeted restore

After reading about all the problems people are having, I'm wondering when the Dev-Team will release their jb and hopefully it will have no bugs. I'm still on 4.0.1 so I guess I can wait a bit longer...
 
i am getting so annoyed with jailbreaks lately. Redsnow I get it to work 1 in 100 times most of the time I get the "unexpected error" and white screen of death now with this jb it just sits on the greenpoison initialized screen. ive tried every suggestion in this thread. plus none of these teams release windows versions whenever ive had issues with the mac version of a JB the windows version works fine but now they dont even give us an option. Believe me I appreciate that they take the time to jailbreak this devices for free but these bugs are so frustrating.

I doubt it. They'll probably just leave it like this and tell us all we should be grateful for this half-assed release.

At least some of you guys have your animated boot screens, though! I bet that made it all worth it. :rolleyes:

why push out the ****ing mac version instead of taking the time and finishing all versions..

if i had a ****ing mac i would have used redsnow already.

now im sure we will see rc6 for mac fixing compability with older osx versions, then rc7 fixing some stupid crash on mac and maybe, maybe in few weeks a windows version of rc5 which crashes 99% of the time.

Well, that would be because you are on windows... :D

And you are more than welcome to get busy and create your own JB and make sure you make it to be a windows only version...

I dont understand why this jailbreak is so bad. They've had this exploit working for so many weeks now and have had so much time perfecting it, it's not like they were rushed at all because they even started working on 4.3.

I just pray at my altar to Satan every night before bed that iOS 5.0 negates any need for jailbreaking. We'll see if my chants are answered soon enough. :)
 
Finally got it working thanks to the website at the bottom of this post. I tried several different methods, but the key for me was not having iTunes open. I closed it and the next try worked.

Sudo Open Greenpois0n

* Run Terminal on Mac
* Type ‘sudo open ’ and then drag the greenpois0n.app on Terminal. Then press Enter/Return. Note: type sudo open without quotes and give a space after open.
* Greenpois0n will open, now try the jailbreak.

Note: Make sure iTunes is NOT running while you’re running Greenpois0n.
