How do you open it via terminal?? My iphone 4 with stock 4.2.1 is sitting on the gp initailizing screen right now...

Open GP via show package contents, go into the MacOS folder, drag GP into terminal and hit enter
 
Jailbreak worked, loader works and shows cydia but cydia dl is crawling. Servers must be getting hammered. I'll try later.
 
I just ran gp over tethered jailbreak. No restore. Held home button through the process. Loaded up fine. Untethered now. Works good for me.

Alright thank you! So I did that and in terminal the last line says Exiting libpois0n and the iphone is on the gp initializing. Did this happen to you?

They recommend restoring. However, the guy in the quote below claims to have gotten it to work.

4.2.1 redsn0w tethered? If so what did you do to get it to work? Did you lose any data?
 
FINALLY! I got it to work. Now to go see if Loader decides to play nice.

I did the terminal trick AND held the home button the entire time. I had also edited my hosts file. I don't know which of these (or which combination) worked, or if this is all really just dumb luck, but I'm at least on the loader, trying to install Cydia.

You had better restore then and retry the JB
 
I didn't do anything other than run it and hold home til it says complete. I was on redsnow tethered 4.2.1
 
Works on iPad

Just ran GP on tethered JB iPad. No restore... just ran it. Held home button until it hit verbose mode. Took about 3 minutes, booted up perfectly in JB mode, untethered!
