Wow this site never ceases to amaze me.
Apple is going to get something for sure = wow, amazing, it's going to be the best.
Apple is not going to get something = Well, it was stupid anyway, it was a rubbish idea, glad they are not doing it.

Just amazes me, watching the postings.

Also this is conforming my predictions from a few months ago.
AMAZING things have been touted for the latest high end iPhone, however Apple, naturally don't wish to get up on stage and disappoint people who are expecting what's NOT coming.
So Apple are now starting to officially/secret leak out more and more to the rumour sites to kill off false expectations they can't deliver on.
It's the only way they can be sure there is not a sea of disappointment when they get on stage and show it.

Kill of high expectations before that time comes.
Shame they do this, as by launch day, there will be nothing much left to be surprised by

I actually welcome the curved display. It can add another dimension to the OS - and we all know iOS needs another dimension.
I disagree. I think the curved displays that Samsung does on TVs, Monitors and Phones are total technological headfakes and serve no real functionality, if not burdensome. It can be tough to hold your phone if the edge has a touchscreen on it.

Well, the aspect ratio stuff was completely expected. Essentially, IMO, it was confirmed a week ago. There's no way to fit a 5.8" screen inside the iPhone 7 body...unless you dump 16:9.

You could fit 18:9 at 5.8" diagonal with practically no border left and right, and a total of 6mm top and bottom.
[doublepost=1489336717][/doublepost]
Why are all the sites repeating this 18:9 PR blurb? As is said in the text, 18:9 is the same as 2:1. It is basic maths, reduction to the lowest common denominator! 16:9 can't be reduced further, 18:9 can! Kids are taught this at primary school!
Because it's easier to compare 16:9 against 18:9, or 21:9 which are all being sold as TVs as far as I know.

You're all sad, sad little people! It's a ****ing phone. It makes phone calls that's it and yet you're all so excited about a product. PATHETIC.
Wow! I didn't know Donald Trump visits this site!
Mr. President, the iPhone also runs apps and games. You can twitter from it too! Just so you know. Sad!

I'm honestly not a fan of this lineup. I think they should have just overhauled the design of all 3 phones instead of making an 'elite' one. 3 phones is already borderline overkill, but hey, alright. For small handed people, for standard and for bigger handed people (or folks who want a bigger phone).

The iPad lineup is also getting weird: 7.9, 9.7, 10.something, 12.9? I think there are too many variants.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I feel like with iPad, they're trying to see what sticks, and eventually they'll find two or three models which they'll carry on with.

With iPhone... who knows. I have a theory that the iPhone 7S was only floating around the supply chain in case the iPhone 8 wasn't ready. But it seems like the iPhone 8 will be ready. So... will we see both?

Maybe the iPhone 7S will be like the "Series 1" Watch, and be simply an iPhone 7 with a faster processor that can handle the AR platform Apple are supposedly working on. Who knows.

I'd be happy with faster processor, zero screen lag, better screen, better battery life, better camera, better voice transmission so the people on the other end can hear me. Done.

It could be that the posts that eare positive about the curved screen are posted by other people than the ones which don' t want a curved screen.
There are a lot of people on this forum.
Do you think all apple fans are one person and all think alike?

I appreciate that they are different phones, but still cannot find a single feature making SE less adequate than its bigger siblings for my day to day use.
I respectfully disagree, it is more than just differences. SE uses old generation Touch ID, poorer brightness and color, poorer display, no barometer, mono speaker, last generation chips, really poor front facing camera, lesser wifi tech. It goes on.

iPhone SE was a rubbish 3rd generation iphone 5 rehash on the day it arrived. A year on it just looks even worse on paper and in use. Apple needs to stop neglecting the four inch market and release an all new brand new 4" phone.

iPhone SE is regurgitation. And it's embarrassing. That's why it's not being purchased and places are returning stock.

Is that why the SE has generally been selling well? No barometer makes it embarrasing? (sic) Basically pay less, get less, but for those who want a smaller factor without the latest bells and whistles, the SE seems totally up to task. It's not embarrassing in the least. To each their own.

I wish someone wound just leak some high quality photos of the iPhone 8, so that all these different different rumors cease.
Patience, patience... Soon enough.

Apple will do so in a few months :).
Perhaps right around the time Samsung announces the Galaxy S8 by end of month or early April. That would be good timing.

I don't understand anything about this messy lineup. and I don't understand why there should be a premium iPhone which do not suit my needs. I thought all the iPhones were supposed to be premium. In this case it's not
This is Tim's world and we're all just living in it.

Not sure what year you're living in (best guess: 2006), but nobody uses "phones" (actually pocket computers) for phone calls these days. There are things called "apps" on it, which do stuff, like twitting and bookfacing and cat videos. There's something called "App Store" that has more of them, too! There are dozens, maybe even hundreds of apps! In other news, you may be outraged to discover that iPhones do not use physical keyboards!

What about TubeFace, BookTube, Instatwerp, <blah blah blah>? - it's like people have this obsessive COMPULSIVE bent towards antisocial networks, so very saddening if you allow it to take over your life, as many do and have.

Better "fit in" or you'll stand out and be thought of as a weirdo... glad I stick out, I get more done! :D
[doublepost=1489374565][/doublepost]I'll use a BlackBerry Classic (BEAUTIFUL, amazing phone) before I use ANYTHING curved... (apart from a BB Curve, obviously, hehe.)

Curved displays like on the Samsung phones look cool from a distance until I start reading text on them. Once I start reading text on them I see that in reality it looks like crap.

I personally hate curved screens... if nothing else than because screen protectors no longer fit properly so you get halos around the edges of the protector where the screen starts to curve down & dust / debris can build up

Sure hope the screen of the iPhone 8 is completely flat this time (unlike the 6/6s/7) *fingers-crossed*
Me too. Edge to edge tempered glass films looked best on the iPhone 5's. Actually you couldn't even see them.
[doublepost=1489382606][/doublepost]
The glass will be flat but frosted
So it will be flat flat then.

Gotta agree. It is essentially a 6s in a 5s skin. And by far the best 4" phone on the market anywhere in the world. Just try to find a 4" or smaller phone on ANY platform that even comes remotely close... fingers crossed for an updated 4" phone with 7 internals AND design cues - drool worthy!

I have a curved tv and it adds nothing to the viewing experience plus more prone to reflections. Only reason I have one is where the tv is situated fits neatly in that corner and actually meant I could have a bigger tv because it's not sticking out.

The iPhone SE is good, what more would you want in a small phone? Maybe 3D touch? But otherwise it seems pretty awesome to me.

- Waterproof (always worried about my phone getting wet)
- Optical image stabilization (to help with my blurry photos especially in low light)
- Speaker upgrade (anything to help having to cup the speakers with my hand and putting my head as close as possible to my phone while still being able to watch a video)
- Touch ID 2 (TID 1 sometimes doesn't register)
- 256 GB storage (constantly needing to empty out my photos because the current 64 max storage is just paltry)

would all be very welcomed upgrades. And 3D Touch would be nice for quick app switch and text cursor.

I have the SE and am very happy. I had the 7, great phone but I like the usability of the SE. I would prefer better front camera, 3d touch as well (perhaps a 7 design but in the 4 to 4.2in display would be awesome).

Well, that's just me.

A9/10 cpu
4-4.2" display give me full 720/1080p resolution for media consumption
1.2+ MPfront camera and back camera to match IP6S at least
And iPhone 7 curved body for device lineup unification.
Please.
