iphone 7 is for ios 10
iphone 7 is for redesign
iphone 7 is for 4k display

now is 6S not 7

Ha! Apple would squash these guys like a bug in court or out.

It's a non-issue. A phone and a marketing company don't occupy the same trademark category. See: Megatron and Mega-Tron, and Optimus Maximus toy and Optimus Maximus keyboard.

They're just making a name for themselves as the event approaches. "6S" has been predicted for months (and logically assumed for years), so if it was real, they'd have already simply filed. It's quite clearly not.

This campaign kind of feels like a crazy homeless person with a shopping cart full of rotting apples standing in front of Apple headquarters and shouting randomly at Apple employees, "change your name, it's been done already!"

I disagree. This only demonstrates that they have a ****** name (even without the iPhone naming scheme) and have enough budget to buy a few billboards.
Sigh. It demonstrates they understand how to create buzz. Companies buy billboard space every day and you don't hear about it in the news. Now, are they marketing to you? Obviously not. They are marketing to people seeking marketing services and who can appreciate an agency willing to think outside the box.

What does that even mean? Do you think this place sells computer hardware?

Look, it shows this place has balls, creates buzz, and is willing to go all out. A good trait for a potential marketer if I am a customer.

Also, I think there is a 90% chance they cleared this with Apple first. Perhaps a part of a quick agreement between the two not to have any future issues. I guarantee no one is serious or offended here.

What a dumb azz

"Dear Universe"? Sounds like Apple called ...
…and said "stop insinuating that we're infringing on your name. You're not funny." Just a guess though.

Well 6S Marketing ad agency did publicly ask Apple to rename the iPhone 6s. Maybe the lawyers did call them and politely said no. They panicked and couldn't even feel compelled to replace "Dear Apple" with "Dear Human". "Dear Universe"?!! ROFL, someone sure had a massive panic attack at 6S Marketing.  o_O

I don't think they care about Addy awards. They are a digital marketing company.

Sorry - and you're boasting 30 years of experience and "award-winning" - What you wrote pales so much in comparison and would garnish zero buzz. I read your statement and say "who cares?" Also 6S doesn't just rhyme with success. It IS success.

FYI, Addy Awards has a category for digital advertising/marketing.

So you think "6S" IS "success"?!! Maybe sounds like, but not IS. Big difference. Hope that clears it up for you.

Very clever. But as Apple has a habit of stealing names I doubt they will change a thing.

Interesting reading around the whole CISCO and iPhone name in the CISCO thread the other day, people seem to have forgotten Apple stole the name from CISCO.

And again you are wrong.

You should know that iOS name is also owned by Cisco and Apple is paying for using it. You are not searching too much when posting something, huh?

It probably was more like Apple asked them not to use their name in their ads...

Since 2000, have never heard of it any tiny dust. That explains the attention they need.

Ha! Apple would squash these guys like a bug in court or out. But they seem like good sports and just want 15 minutes of fame for their company.

And it's not like it isn't working. Before today none of us knew who the hell 6S was...

Obviously Apple wouldn't have the slightest chance to "squash them like a bug". Might is not right. If Apple tried to stop them, they would be laughed out of court. It seems that they have been using this name a long long time before anyone dreamed of an iPhone. And I'm sure the company has a good number of customers who knew exactly who they are for a long time.

I'd say they used a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to promote their company, and did it in a very nice and clever way.

Why would Apple change it?! There's no confusion between an iPhone and a marketing company, so they'd have no reason or obligation to and they're not in the same industry either.

Let me explain that: 6s marketing is a marketing company. With very little effort, they made sure that millions of people heard of them. You did. I did. All the MacRumors readers did. That's what I'd expect any decent marketing company to do, use an opportunity like this to market itself. They don't care what Apple calls their iPhone.

They probably would've survived but now they've main themselves known to Apple, it's only a matter of time before Apple shuts them down.

How exactly could Apple shut them down (other buy paying them enough money that everyone can retire and never work again in his life, which I would take as success)? And why do you suggest would Apple want to do that anyway? Please give a rational reason.

Nope you are wrong, Apple was in in talks with CISCO at the time but nothing was finalised when Steve Jobs took to the stage and announced the name IPhone.
Here's another link for you:

I suggest you go and search before replying. Apple stole it, Apple does that. You seem to lack knowledge of Apple's history and thus incorrectly, or blindly defend them.

That's what you claim. Cisco's claim on the name was, to say the least, very very dubious. They were in a situation where they would have lost the trademark if they didn't show a product, but then they kept the trademark by providing product photos that were quite obvious fakes. If things had gone to court, they might have lost. And lost badly for attempting fraud by providing fake product photos. If they won, Apple would have used a different name and Cisco would have got nothing.
