Its not a big issue. I don't want people being scared off buying these amazing phones. Its fine if we keep it in this forum. It's a fault with third party apps only so Apple is not to blame.
Are you an admin here? How is it not a big bug? Lol but okay I submitted feedback to Apple.

So, it appears it may have been indexing (it's not doing it this morning). I'm not really sure why 13-15 hours wasn't enough to index before now, but giving it all night and this morning, I can't seem to reproduce the problem. To be clear, I didn't turn off Touch ID or spotlight/Siri, I just gave it time (and a lot of time at that).

As luck would have it, the phone also seems lighter today since I didn't pick it up right behind the 6. I kind of knew that would happen though.

So just a thought. People with the freezing/lagging issues do you have an Apple Watch? When I reset my settings I lost connection with my Apple Watch but I just repaired the watch and all of the sudden when it the phone wakes and unlocks it lags a bit.

It's not a fault with third party apps. Have you not read the thread? Clean installs suffer from this as well. It should be known and addressed, not kept out of the light.

I just setup my iPhone as new and the lag exists here and there, I noticed mine when I try to get the 3D wallpaper to move on the lock screen

I had the same issue yesterday a couple of hours after I restored from backup, but one hour later is was gone. Probably some indexing going on there. Hasn't happen again today.

I've noticed some lag on my 6s (64gb), fresh install. Sometimes, right after unlocking, the iPhone screen will freeze and not show anything on the menu bar (wifi/carrier, time, battery bar, etc) for about 2-5 seconds, then back to normal. I've also noticed the occasional lag in various apps (both Apple and 3rd party).

Not as bad as the 5 was, mind you, but a bit annoying. Hoping it's just part of the .0x release, and that 9.1 will smooth everything out, especially with Metal.

I asked this earlier but of the different ways to set up the phone one is to restore the phone using an Encrypted iTunes backup.
Is there anyone with lag issues who set up their phone from an Encrypted Backup?

So if I get this right ~ if I do the encrypted restore on my current 6 Plus everything is fine (I know it is as I did it only yesterday).
However, if I place that same encrypted restore on my 6s Plus when it arrives there then could be an issue with lag/freezes etc.

Surely this can't be an iOS 9 issue but points more towards the new phones?

Lag issue has improved since last night, but definitely not gone. Just unlocked my phone using Touch ID and tried to open the Settings app, lagged for about a second then the Settings app icon filled my entire screen (strange looking), lagged for another second, then finally opened completely. This needs the front page treatment.

Apple is always tooting it's own horn talking about user experience, I'd hope they'd be interested in fixing this.

I did in fact see that sluggishness after waking the phone yesterday. But today it is gone. I agree with that person who said it was some sort of indexing process. That would explain why it went away by morning when it had been completed.

Smart thing for Apple to do would be to run those indexing processes in the background with low priority.

Not really an issue if the lag is a unlocking animation and not everywhere. For 99% is indexing nothing more nothing less
