128 GB 6S, I have the unlock lag, I noticed it last night when I set it up from a restore and it's still there today. Most noticeably when unlocked after at least a few minutes of being locked, takes 2-4 seconds for the screen to respond to inputs. Very annoying. I had iOS9 running on my 6 with no issues.

I have the same issue on my 6s.

What apps are attempting to launch as you unlock? Is it third-party stuff or Apple ones?

Just had an iPad at the office do this yesterday. ITunes wouldn't even see it until we put it in recovery mode.

So I am noticing a few things on my new 6S Plus.

If I am on the lock screen and unlock, sometimes it acts like it didn't take and sits there for a second and boom, it then unlocks. Also noticed that sometimes when I unlock, the screen is frozen for a second after unlock and the bar with the info at the top is missing then comes back after it unfreezes.

I am assuming this is a software issue right now and hopefully it will get worked out. It's very weird.

I restored from a backup, from iTunes.

Yep, I've had this happen a couple of times. Otherwise getting some lag and pauses, not as many as my 6+ on ios9 but definitely more than I'm used to with iOS. Sometimes my iPhone feels like a Samsung on Touchwiz, that's bad.

My Instagram keeps force closing when I try to search for something. Anyone else having this problem?

I set phone up as new and it still happens. New set up does nothing. No back up here only thing I did was log into my iCloud and it kept my contacts. Otherwise nothing carried over. No apps. All installed new.

Posted from my Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android 5.1.1. Please give me some lags so I have something to talk about :) kidding but true.

I have two iPhone 6s+ coming. This scared me.

I have noticed some lag on my 6s, wondering if it has something to do with the CPU lowering the clock speed to preserve power. The A9 appears to have a much higher clock rate than the A7/A8. Or maybe they are turning 1 core off completely and stuttering when turning that core back on, I know the Nexus 6 had that issue initially.

Was just about to start a new thread and found this one.

There is definitely a bug in iOS 9 that is causing this freeze/stutter. Mine phone always freezes for a few seconds right after unlocking/touch id.

Hopefully Apple fixes soon.

Anyone on 9.1 seeing anything similar?

I'm having the exact same problem, and I have a theory on why it's happening.

Apple has always been aggressive in shutting down unnecessary hardware and software services when our phones are in screen off/sleep mode. Because the new Touch ID is so fast, the phone is unlocked and at the home screen faster than these hardware and software services can all turn back on.

I think this will get fixed quickly, but I also hope Apple adds an option to have a Touch ID delay of my choosing, just for the lock screen. As of now, it's impossible to use the double click home to Apple wallet feature. Really surprised Apple has a feature that is basically impossible to use. Very un-apple like, in my experience.

So turn off touch id then? Does it fix it

Does this problem still exist if you switch Touch ID off and use a PIN code? That would somewhat prove your theory.

I have turned off Touch ID atm and no passcode and have not been able to duplicate the problem. I'm really thinking its related to Touch ID

I think you are correct with this. Touch ID is so fast, the phone doesn't have time to "wake up" and is still groggy. After it finally wakes up, everything is grand.
