This is *exactly* what my 64gb is doing -- freezing and switching from WiFi to AT&T -- just had Apple give me a new phone and can't get it setup because it hangs during the process. Nice to drive 90 minutes each way to the Apple Store, too, to avoid paying $129 to expedite a new phone, especially after just buying it through AT&T.

Hi All,

Wanted to chime in with my experience so far. I am also experience freezing and lag, but when this happens my phone rapidly disconnects and re-connects to my known WiFi networks.

I am coming from a Verizon 6+ to the a new Verizon 6s+. I backed up the 6+ and restored the 6s+ from backup. After restoring the 6s+, I instantly noticed lag and freezing. What I mean by this, is that when entering a password, i could type 2-3 characters before the phone would become unresponsive. After a 12-15 second delay, the phone would let me again type 2-3 characters before locking up again. At first I figured, it was because it was indexing, I left the phone on my desk to "let it do its thing." However, when I came back, the same issue was occurring.

After further inspection, I noticed that my phone was rapidly dropping and reconnecting to my home WiFi. I turned off WiFi and the phone began to function like normal or as expected. I turned WiFi back on and had no further issues. That was until I powered my phone off and back on (unrelated to this) and the same thing started happening again.

I have reset my network settings.
Called Apple and did a full system restore then restored via backup.
Exchanged the phone for the same model.
Reset network settings again.

The issue is still persistent and consistent. It seems to happen anytime I connect to WiFi from LTE (home to work and vice versa).

Anybody here experiencing the same type of situation?

Edit: Running iOS 9.0.2

Hi rp911,
Sorry to hear this. I was sick of it doing it to me at work, so I performed a "Reset All Settings" so I could still keep all of my apps, photos, and music, but "restart" with settings. So far so good, but I am still at work and haven't had a chance to test it at home or going from home to work and vice versa. Once I know more I will update.

Many many more people have 128s here than 64s.

I can say, personally, I swapped out my 128GB that was experiencing lag to a 64 and my lag issues have all disappeared. I think here's an issue with the NVMe controller with the 128GB flash configurations.
Which can be fixed by sw.

Just got my 6s Plus 128 yesterday and it's been lagging and freezing quite a bit. Haven't read too much of this thread yet but is it iOS 9.0.2 causing this?

Siri doesn't speak either. Not the America voice

Ive had my 6S 128 for a week now on B5 and its seems a bit smoother now. Sometimes you see a very slight stutter in the UI. I don't think it has anything to do with the hardware/ram or we would be seeing all sorts of problems when actually using apps etc. I find it more of a UI issue. I know there was that problem with the original 6 with 128 mb where it was crashing etc. but I would think Apple has worked that out my now. Hopefully threy can work this out in a couple of software updates.

Just got my 64GB 6S+ yesterday and I do have the lag as well. I certainly didnt have this on my regular 6s. That was smooth right out the box. Its only been a day so I'll give it a few more days and see if it settles down before I start worrying.

Who has the official 9.1 that just released today? At work not able to download. Please tell me our issues have been resolved

Hope 9.1 fixes my unlock status bar lag and unresponsiveness! Really getting irritated with having to wait 2-4 seconds before my phone responds after unlocking.

Give some time with 9.1. I remember when i had the lag with beta it went away after couple hours use

My gf just reported the same thing. It's such a obvious bug I wonder if it's even important to the developers.

According to Apple, it was addressed and fixed.

Sadly, it has not. It happened when I just checked my phone for something. The time bar at the top was gone for a second and then back.

Strange. I'm on 9.0.2 and haven't experienced any unlock/status bar lag at all. I did experience a bit of status bar lag on 9.0.1, if I recall.

Early impressions are that the status bar lag is fixed for me. Of note, I did not update OTA, I did the full update via iTunes.

Frame rate drops with 3d touch? (video doesn't include footage, just some vblogger banging on about it)

I don't see it myself.

Updated to 9.1 and I still have unlock lag. I have also had a lot of unlock freeze where the icon animation is stuck and it finally finishes the unlock animation after about 3 seconds.

I also have this status bar/unlock lag. Very annoying. When i got the phone i set it up as new. One hour ago did a fresh install (restore) of iOS 9.1 and restore via iTunes, it is just the same. Lag survived. 6S 128GB
