I received my 128GB Verizon 6s Plus yesterday after returning my regular 6s 64GB a few weeks back. Right out of the box the lag was present. It's ridiculous. I feel like I'm on Android. I did a complete restore and it's still there. Hangs 3-5 seconds at times right after wake (if the screen has been off for more than 5 mins). Annoying. This did not happen on the regular 6s. It was extremely snappy. I hate this. Update to 9.1 did not fix this. It's still there.

Hi i have the same totaly new install and have the freezing lag at homescreen. Gets worse IF Siri is active. I installed with iTunes so not OTA. My concerns is more like is It wrong with the phone Or is the software faulty. It seems like different processors act different with the sleeping mode. But IF you have a active program up and close phone to sleeping mode IT Usual start as normal whitout lag. I have 128gb with Samsung Processor. It seems like 128gb is more Usual with this lag..

Baffling what some of you are seeing. I've handled dozens of 6S+ models and never once encountered anything like this. Is there the occasional, infrequent, extremely brief stutter? Yes, and there always has and always will be on any smartphone, but with the way some of you talk about it, I can't help but believe there's either a) something wrong with your device, or b) you are completely full of it. Baffling.

Yep, there's no delay when waking into an active app. Or when you wake the screen first with the power button then TouchID.

Same issue on 9.1. 6S 128GB.

Further observations shows that our problem have something to do with WIFI, not Touch ID. Try to wake (not unlock) the phone with power button after a while of inactivity, and You will see that it drops WiFI for a short while and reconnects. After that You can unlock (with Touch ID) with no lag. The same thing happens when You are unlocking with touch ID, the phone drops wifi for a second and reconnects - this is causing lag in my opinion. Please test it and post your results!

Hi rp911,
Sorry to hear this. I was sick of it doing it to me at work, so I performed a "Reset All Settings" so I could still keep all of my apps, photos, and music, but "restart" with settings. So far so good, but I am still at work and haven't had a chance to test it at home or going from home to work and vice versa. Once I know more I will update.

I did this exact same thing and the "Reset All Settings" made it worse.

Lol, I don't think you've used Android in...5 years?

did an OTA to 9.1 last night, before bed. the transitions with opening/closing folders seem a tad slower in effect, not so much in hardware speed (if that makes sense), yet feels smoother. no freezing or crashing apps, yet.

I'm not seeing any keyboard lag or glitches that I was constantly getting, before.

also, after the update, I was prompted to continue with some carrier update thingy that I clicked 'yes' to. the signal dropped and disappeared for a few seconds. I've been staying at a motel this whole week (for work) with some useless 3G service, but after the carrier update, it was night and day how much the 3G service improved. I was then able to stream videos, even.

still early. will report further as I get to use my phone more.

I haven't checked this thread in a week or so. I've noticed that the lag/pause/freeze occurs for me whe the phone starts going between wifi and LTE for no specific reason.

I go periods of time without this problem, but it's started back up again. The phone is worthless when this happening. I was hoping the update this morning was the fix for this. No? I'll get back to my phone in about 2 hours.

I haven't heard of or seen any such update.

I'm not seeing anything in that second video that demonstrates anything other than standard behaviour ...
Look at the status bar, there are my videos plus many other people, status bar lag, max 5 seconds, nothing can be used on the phone during this time. 5 seconds might not seem like a long time, but it builds up throughout the day.

There's something wrong with your device. Get it replaced. There is absolutely none of that on my 6S+

I guess everyone's definition of "lag" is different because I didnt see any at all.
