Yep. Otherwise very pleased with my 6S+ but sometimes when I unlock my phone it doesn't respond for like 2-5 seconds. Annoying bug. I wonder if this has something to do with too fast touch ID since this didn't happen with my 6 which has obviously much slower unlocking process.

That happened all the time on my 6+. Hasn't happened to me so far luckily, but I've only had it 2 weeks

I've the same issues. Clean install is no option for me since I do not want to lose all health / activity data from my watch.

Well if your backup is causing the issue then you'll experience it on every new iPhone you buy for the rest of your life.

I'm having a similar issue where I will be normally using my 6s Plus 64GB (setup as new) and the touchscreen just stops responding. I did a chat with Apple Support earlier and they told me to reset the network settings. I've done that so I'll see how it goes.

Anyone else get this kind of lag with their 6+? I have all these problems on mine.

I can't say that animation frame rate bothers me, and let's face it who has both phones to compare? If it wasn't for YouTube who would know? Coming from the 6+, the 6S+ is a smooth speed demon so you won't find too many ex-6+ owners complaining! The Plus model has more to do than the 4.7" and yet it has identical processor/GPU/RAM hardware. I think we're always going to see the smaller phones performing better until/unless Apple starts giving the Plus models a performance boost.

Since I just got my phone exchanged (yes return/exchange) yesterday (10/26/15), I decided to do a DFU restore and install fresh 9.1. So far no lag/freeze on my phone after setting up everything as new. Of course this may not work for everyone one but this clearly has fixed my lag issue.

Glad that worked for you. Fresh installs fix most issues.

So Apple seem to have either capped animation frame rate on the 6S+ at 30fps when GUI transparency is enabled or as with transparency disabled it runs at 60fps; which could likewise simply be an oversight / bug in iOS 9.

I imagine this one will be an easy fix compared to the other bugs in iOS 9-9.1 that persist.

Angela Griffins choice of naming the video as 'performance issues' was clearly just a 'device' to solicit more views and hence garner increased revenue on her channel. I'm sure if she simply labelled the video 'transparency animation bug on 6S+' it would not be as sensationalist.

There is always an ulterior motive (this occasion - viewers) and as I say whilst the issue / bug is real, as the solution (turn on reduce transparency in accessibility - contrast) proves that the device clearly is capable of running animations fine and dandy (and the myriad of games prove it can handle transparency and 60fps without hassle) - as I say I'm confident this is a bug and will be patched in the future, much like the TouchID issue many of you are having.

Also have the Touch ID bug on my new 6s+ 128GB. Unlocks quick but what's the point if it freezes for 2 seconds before you can do anything!!!

I have videos not yet uploaded that show similar and I have a 6S+ and normal 6S with me. Everything about the 6S is smoother and less laggy. The 6S is still laggy in some cases so don't expect a completely smooth experience with either phone. I've used a 6 plus for a year without much issue but it's so apparent there is a difference between the S models.

A "solution" turn reduce transparency on" isn't a solution. It's turning off a major point of the iOS interface and we should not have to turn anything off to have an experience we expect, especially when we spend so much on these devices.

You missed the point i was trying to make ! The fact that by doing this it restores 60fps shows that the device clearly runs at 60fps. Likewise the A9 is more than capable of running transparency and alpha effects at 60fps as the multitude of games show. So it does seem to show that this is just 'another bug' and should hopefully be patched in the future.

Im not saying we all should or have to enable reduce transparency.

Ah ok, I apologise. Also considering the iPad Air 2 with a very similar CPU and GPU is able to run properly without issue, goes to show that it could possibly be fixed.

I originally bought the iPHone 6s and then decided I wanted the 6s plus. That's when I noticed there was a difference in how much smoother the 6s was compared to the 6s+. I thought something was wrong with the phone and exchanged it only to find out that the new 6s plus had the same issue. The 6s is definetly a much better experience; however, I am having a hard time going back to the smaller screen now. Is it safe to say that Apple will more than likely address these issues or is this something 6+ owners will have to live with? I ask this because I did not on a 6 plus model before.

I'm on 6S 128. It also has unlock lag.

does not exhibit any of the UI lag that my 6s Plus does as highlighted in the youtube video posted above.

That isn't 'lag' per say - it's an animation frame rate difference to 30fps from 60fps which makes it feel less smooth. This is a bug as enabling reduce transparency corrects it. The 6 Plus is not affected and the 6S Plus is clearly more powerful and more than capable of 60fps GUI animation. Just another bug to be fixed in the inevitable 9.2

The difference reducing transparency makes is huge! I'm really surprised there's no fix for this yet. I love the smoothness compared to before but as someone said earlier, the motion is what makes iOS, iOS.
