Is this issue maybe related to the storage size? Does everybody with the problem has a 128GB 6s / 6s plus?

Lag issues here. 128 6s+.

Just submitted a bug report to apple and linked to this thread. Hopefully someone takes a look.

I have a Space Grey 128GB 6s Plus. When I saw this thread I went and checked out my phone thoroughly and I'm happy to report I have no lag or freezes of any kind. Mind you I waited for the phone to finish restoring from iCloud then let it sit for a couple hours giving it time to index.

This phone is smooth as silk. It's a beast!!!

I was wrong. They are still happening. Especially when waking from sleep. 5-10 seconds of springboard being frozen. 128GB 6s+.

6s plus 128 here with the same issue. Easily repeatable just by letting it sit with the screen off for a few minutes. When it's finally stops being frozen it screams but that wake up period is annoying

I have this freeze issue with 9.1 ( Yes, Im a reg developer ) I thought it was 9.1 but now seems like that's not so...

Issues, thus far :

1- Upon unlock, the clock on the status bar takes a good 2-3 seconds to appear.
2- The 'messages' app takes about 4-5 seconds to open the furst time, but subsequently opens instantly.
3- Data connectivity issue. Status bar shows LTE, but opening any website feels like being on Edge! Happens randomly and cannot be reproduced everytime.

Issues have been reported to Apple.

I have requested an exchange from TMobile primarily because my unit has dust under the screen which is annoying as hell!!!

I don't have any of the lag issues that people have mentioned (I did have issues when I first restored due to indexing). But I'm definitely keeping my eye out for them now because of this thread, especially since I have a 6S+ 128 like a lot of you...

I notice that if I leave an app open (I've been using Safari as an example the past few tries) when I lock the phone, if I let it sit for a few minutes and then unlock it, there is no lag. Mine only appears to lag if I lock the phone while it's on the home screen. Anyone else notice this?

Not getting the data issue, but the first two are what I'm getting to a T. Messages won't even shade itself life it registered I tapped on it for a few seconds, then when it does register it opens right up.

Of the problems associated with iTunes Backup, were these using the Standard iTunes or 'Encrypted' Backup?
Encrypted should take a byte per byte backup cloning the previous device.

A lot of us set up as new...

I think it's equal on both sides those of us whom set up as new and those who restored a back up (although their is no knowing if it was encrypted)

But the issue seems to still be there for a lot of folks so who knows

I set up as new. Not just freezing on messages now springboard is frozen for ~5-7 seconds on 50% of unlocks.

6s Plus 64GB 9.0.1 here, restored from 6 running 9.0, very smooth experience comparing to 6, no freezing

but

I have a different problem, screen rotation doesn't always work as it should, somethimes it does rotate icons, but doesn't rotate the wallpaper etc.

I restored my 6S+ 64gb with my iCloud back up. I also updated to 9.01. Everything is working fine except for a very slight stutter while scrolling heavy photo or gif's like in Tumblr or FB

This is what i'm getting but on a new phone, it sounds like an Apple software issue.

I wonder when Macrumours will post this as a story

So, I had numerous issues yesterday. I restored from my iPhone 6 backup and was playing around all afternoon and it was really sluggish. It started to get a little better at night, but some apps still had delayed response. Put it on the charger and went to bed last night. Woke up about an hour back and started using it again and no sluggishness since this morning. Very smooth! Maybe it needed the indexing to finish. But I will report back if I have any issues. 64 GB 6S+ here.
