no! they should fix it in a software update.
it's not my problem, it's theirs.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. There have been people complaining about yellow screens for years and the only solution has been the return lottery, a painful process most people give up after a year or two.

Lol I'll be going for the royals this year. The Cubs on the NL side. Anyone who destroys the Dodgers is who I want to win.

Thanks for the support! lol. I was at Game 1, figures we would lose that one.

To stay on topic, through 6 iPhones, 3 iPads, and one Macbook Air I've been yellow screen free.

really?
so it's not as rosy in US as it seems from abroad...
i thought that anyone can return anything all the time
on the smallest complaint.

there's no software that can universally make all panels the same.

different suppliers, so they can narrow that down technically but lots of variation within them, too.

err, not sure what you mean..
you say that because of how they build the device in different places,
a calibrated software still won't matter because it has hardware assembly differences?

Different companies make same spec screens 'on paper.'

Between even the same manufacturer screen, there's variation and no two will necessarily be exactly the same.

There may be manufacturing processes and variation in putting these together that adds to the screen lottery.

Point being this can't be done.

Actually Apple does make it easy to return things, but if looking for the perfect screen, it takes some people multiple exchanges to find a screen they are happy with or at least willing to settle for. Also there is always the chance of getting a device with a different problem.

No doubt the device can be fixed by jailbreaking and calibrating the display, personally it's a shame apple hasn't offered a 'Display Profiles' option in the Display settings on iOS.

Even having a 'temperature' slider would alleviate a load of issues on their end.

in THIS case i do count on IOS/Apple to make it easy for me.
i mean, they take extra care for their pro products to be perfect.
you wouldn't expect unfixed yellow tint from your Apple 4K screen, would you?

They haven't so far, so you'll only be setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don't disagree, fwiw. I hate yellow screens. Just stating the facts

so my 'perfect' 6s plus has a small yellow blotch in upper left hand side looking at it vertically :/

at least its in a corner where vertically i can't really see it at all. same with if i have horizontal orientation with volume buttons up, so its in the top right instead of bottom left in the pic I attached, it's pretty ignorable too. and maybe more discrete on some colors than others.

had to take off axis to show it off, didnt show well in a photo straight on but can see with my eye.

oddly i don't think i'll return it.

not ready to do the genius bar swap, not wanting to argue with at&t/reset upgrade and eating restocking fee, and the screen is a pure white in general. I'm really afraid of a dingy one, it ruins the experience imo

looks great next to my 6+ in general,

afraid of something like THIS!:

My screen is pretty close to perfect. Or at least it is to my eyes. My iPad Air 2 has a blue tint, so my iPhone 6s is a little yellower in comparison, but I can't complain!

Same, slightly more yellow then the ipad air 2. However, I swear its getting more blue each day. Today it was more blue then my computer monitor. No defects here.

The RG 6S Plus that I returned had a nice white to it, while the 6 Plus that I'm using now has a cool blue tint to it. I hope the new SG 6S + that I'm getting will be the same.

My 6S was pretty much perfect except it had the dark shadow gradient effect starting from the top and working its way down. It wasn't severe, but definitely noticeable on any predominantly white screen. It also was doing some crazy stuff as far as searching for and holding onto cell signal. My battery was at 40% by noon each day, and the battery stats page showed "Phone (Low signal) as the main culprit, even after two complete factory resets.

So between these two things I decided to go back to the Apple Store and do a full refund and repurchase. I hesitated when I went into the store because all but one display 6S showed the same or worse gradient effect as mine. I did also notice that the display units were able to get dramatically brighter than my phone at max brightness.

I went ahead with the swap and by some miracle, I received a perfectly uniform, bright, properly tinted display. It also locks onto signal much better at my home and isn't draining the battery. I'm good to go now.

The screen on mine has a very strong yellow tint, it's not uniform either but that doesn't show very well in photos. If you use it on it's own without comparing the screen it's not to bad, but the top to 70% of the way down is ok, then the tint gets a little yellower. Bloody horrible screen compared to my 6 Plus which in person looks pure white. Looks a little red in photos but in person it's perfectly white and uniform.

Have arranged with Apple to get myself an express replacement. Could have returned it but then I may have been without it for 2 to 4 weeks while they get more stock. Plus my Apple Watch would have been useless in the meantime as well as my mum now has my 6 Plus. She loves it coming from a 5s.

Replacement should be at my door in 1 to 3 days.

I will be glad when Apple finally uses OLED then almost all screen issues would be fixed overnight.

OLED is still crap right now. Pixels burn out and burn in, no true whites, and uneven screens.

Yours is pretty much the identical scenario I was in and a similar tint to mine, when viewing it alone it's fine but as soon as you are doing any work which requires switching between different displays the difference becomes noticeable and distracting - if I'm being brutally honest it's just ugly really. I can deal with a warm display but when colour accuracy decreases it becomes a problem.

My initial wait time for a replacement was 1-2 weeks but after discussing with Apple Care they said exchanges become a priority within the warehouse and the wait time decreases. Sure enough my wait time today has just decreased to 1-3 days.

Just had UPS pick it up and give me a receipt, now I've just got to wait for Apple to meet their end of the deal. Hope you get a solid replacement bud!
