Hey guys, wound up here after googling it too, it’s not that annoying and I guess they’ll fix it.
Question though, I have an iPhone 7 on the beta, I do iCloud backup, when I get the 12 can I do an iCloud restore to a non beta iOS or is there an issue there?
Thanks 🙏🏼
I just went from the 8 to the 12 pro. I had to install the profile and update my 12 pro to 14.2 beta before I could restore through iTunes. Now I'm just trying to see how to get off of the beta program and back on to the regular release ring. Hoping the 14.2 GM is released soon.

Has everybody forgotten that they are enrolled in the "beta" testing program? It's called beta for a reason. Bugs will happen, maybe even bugs that happened in previous versions of iOS. If things like this are becoming too annoying, then opt out of beta testing.

So glad to know I'm not alone. This has been driving me crazy. I tested tips mentioned in this post and the problem disappears. BUT this suggestion is not feasible, as you need the actual date. While rolling the time back seems to solve it, apps that require the correct time (e.g. Twitter) stop working. Not all beta versions are created equal, that's for sure, and it's the risk we take on as beta testers.

I think the reason so many people are complaining is that this is the second time this happens. Apple should have permanently fixed this issue the first time around. Once a day is enough for a beta expiration pop up. But here we are dealing with this again.

Yes we know it's beta software. But it's a bug that should have been fixed last year.

I am having the same annoying issue and already notified apple at the feedback app. But, one temporary way as some one already mentioned. Go to settings, General and Date & time. Click on “set automatically“ to off. then go below on the date and change date to October 26. This will solve the problem of the pop up until apple sent us an update to permanent solve this annoying problem. Once the update is done you could go back to settings and change Date & time to “set automatically“ I hope this helps you for now, it did for me.

Many users running iOS 14 beta are reporting that they are seeing a dialog box pop up repeatedly asking them to update from the latest iOS 14 beta.

Threads in our forums, Reddit, and Twitter are reporting the issue. The dialog has been appearing for the past several days, but as of tonight has started appearing more frequently, every time an iPhone is unlocked. There's been further discussion in our iOS 14.2 Beta 4 thread.

Previous betas have reportedly seen the same issue, according to postings in our forum.

Update: Some have mentioned that moving the iOS date back will prevent it from happening, though that has other consequences so we don't recommend it.

So glad I saw this! I've had this dialog box come up occasionally over the past week or so, but last night it began getting more frequent and this morning it's just terrible. I hope Apple puts out a patch to correct this problem ASAP. It's super annoying.

It does actually say “update FROM the iOS beta” either a very badly worded warning or they actually want us off the beta? 😂
This is what I thought since it started like the day before launch. Maybe they wanted us on the live so we wouldn't have issues again with restoring if we got a 12.

Pretty sure it is some what related to date. In iOS 12, when it happened, it was end of August / start of Sep. now its end of Oct.
The triggers is the same, invoke notification centre, which is why it happens when you unlock your phone.
Cool was wondering why it also happened while I was using it

Interesting how it started happening more often once I (we) started noticing it.

My phone is connected to my MBP as I decide if I'm going through the hassle of downgrading to 14.1.

I highly recommend against this. Having the wrong system date set is likely to break things. Photos you take will have the wrong date. E-mails you send may be marked with the wrong date, and so on.

A lot of things these days depend on the system clock being correct, and there's no way to know the extent of what may be broken when you do this.

Better to just live with the pop-up for a bit; I'm sure there will be an update today to fix it.

I submitted a report under FB8838996. If anyone else has, post it and I’ll tag it in mine. Still shows recent similar reports as “none” but that takes a bit to update some times.
FB8861488 is my feedback ID. Hope they get a fix quickly!

This started appearing on my SE last night (my 12 doesn't have the beta installed). Definitely annoying, but I'm sure Apple will address it.

this is so annoying its happening every time i pull down my notification window. i cant take this anymore literally thinking about selling this and going back to android.
So let me get this straight. You volunteered to be a beta tester, where the whole point is to find and report bugs, and then when you hit a bug you get pissed off and want to bail on iPhones entirely. Did I get that right?

Just ignore him. Look at his post history. Every post is negative and is, in most cases, incomprehensible.

A few colours short of a rainbow, that one.
