Like others said, it’s out of control now. I get the error with almost everything I do. Switch apps, unlock phone, return to Home Screen.
I am guessing we missed an update window apple had scheduled for the beta and now we are past the date the reminder gets more insistent. But its beta (well for most of us it is) software. Not sure why some of the new iPhone 12 users are having issue unless apple had planned a update for the version of iOS14 on the phones. There it would be a bit more annoying. That’s why I test on my iPad but not on my iPhone I use more or my MacBook.

It does. I have the 12 Pro and it's happening.
So for those having issue what is version of iOS on the phone— just curious have not ordered yet going for a 12 Pro Max for my apple upgrade next week. I wonder if there is an update that was supposed to fall and it did not?

I so rarely post here I had to go through the hoops to reset my account.
I’m on an 11 Pro Max using this build 14.2 (18B5083a).
It started for me 3 days ago. Let’s see how much longer it takes APPL address.
Also wondering if they will run out a PTF or full beta release.

This is for people on the beta.

I have a solution for the meantime, just go to your settings, general, date and time and switch it to a week back or more if you like, then when you turn off your phone it won’t be popping up, this is only a solution for the meantime though.

Go to your settings, general, date and time and go a week back, and when you turn off your device all should be good

The only thing that mitigates this problem is to glitch the glitch.
Set date to OCT-26-2020 for a temporary fix and turn on back "automatic" time-date when the update comes out.

I had to install public beta as my previous iPhone 7 was backed up to iOS 14.2 and my new iPhone 12 pro shipped with 14.1 so it wouldn’t let me restore my new phone unless I enrolled new phone on the public beta. I removed the profile once it was all restored. I hoped this would stop it downloading future public beta updates - but i have been receiving this error for 3 days too. I’ve reenrolled the phone but it hasn’t helped.

Beta users should allow for bugs in beta software. Obviously.

However, this is not a bug in the software. This is someone at Apple messing up the beta expiry date. Not only that: this has happened before.

Also, users can’t restore their iPhone 12 and 12 Pros to 14.1 because there are no restore images available yet. This is also a failure by Apple.

All of these things can be simultaneously true.

This thread is an absolute embarrassment to the MacRumors user base. About 90% of the people complaining should not be running beta software until they do some research and discover what beta software actually is, and specifically how to use the proper channels to let Apple know about any issues they may have in beta software.

It’s one thing to acknowledge that something is annoying, it’s another thing altogether to whine and blame Apple about being inconvenienced because you put a beta OS on a device that you depend on to work reliably.

And about 10% of the people should read the whole thread before commenting then they'd realise there's iPhone 12 owners running stock iOS who are also experiencing this.

I hadn't even noticed that was the trigger until you said it.... every time I do it now I see it.
Yes and if I do the pull down and back the same, but also when open the screen from lock on iPad as well. And if I just move the cursor up with my trackpad on keyboard it also triggers most times without even doing a pull down of the notifications. Update: Here is image of the screen with message. I have highlighted with red arrow and all my little grey cursor ball at top of screen from moving with my apple keyboard trackpad that is triggering a lot of this. I think its still “grabbing” the notification screen even if I do not pull it down.

I have the issue on iPhone 12. Had to update to the Beta on it (14.2) in order to restore from the backup on my iPhone XR (it was on Beta 14.2) and the new phone was shipped with 14.1 so wouldn't let me restore from a newer version of iOS.

Interesting wonder how many of those reporting this on their iPhone 12’s did this vs having the issue with the stock 14.1. Just curious it’s annoying yeah but not terribly so. Thanks for information.

Hey guys, wound up here after googling it too, it’s not that annoying and I guess they’ll fix it.
Question though, I have an iPhone 7 on the beta, I do iCloud backup, when I get the 12 can I do an iCloud restore to a non beta iOS or is there an issue there?
Thanks 🙏🏼
