AirPods Pro Available for In-Store Pickup

Can people please stop saying "they sound better than the original AirPod's"?

Of course they do..

They are in-ear plug style, which always sound better than a design that just sits outside/in front of ear.

The in-ear wired Apple earphones from way back when, also, of course, sounded much better than the standard earphone design at the time.

they do not sound better, maybe cleaner but not a loud and punchy

They sounds dramatically better than the original AirPods and feel even better in the ear. They’re a lot like the Sony equivalents. Sony still sound a bit better but the AirPods are more comfortable and sweat-proof. Just wish Apple had gone USB-C in those.
But they don't get as loud as the 2nd gen Airpods, correct?

there's already a buzz bug with NC on me and my mates ones have it you have to take them out and in again to stop it

true, 2nd gen AirPods are much louder and to be honest I like them better for just the sound factor

I got mine today. I've had them for about eight hours now, I've used them in a crowded shopping centre and on a train. The noise cancellation is excellent. I like them.

i wonder if they will have try ons in the stores like they did when the original airpods dropped. 'cause if these are anything like the old apple in-ear headphones i'm gonna pass. however if they fit and stay in nicely - i'll give them a go.

Try ons? You have bal*s! Think: gobs of others' ear wax.

How's the sound quality?

I know everyone wants to hear they sound amazing, and yes they sound great and there NC is amazing, but there's a big but if you compare next to AirPods 2 you will see they are not as loud but if you don't compare they still sound great, so its a tough call, I like them as AirPods 2 doesn't always stay in my ear where these do and the NC is such a nice feature maybe in firmware updates they can tune the loudness

PS: I wasn't going to buy them but I did anyway. (I know, hypocrite!). The old AirPods would never stay in my ears no matter what. I can affirm that no matter what I try to do with these new ones, they won't eject themselves from my ears. Great fit.

Just got mine...and I'm in love! ANC is really impressive and they feel more comfortable than the usual airpods (which I also liked a lot). The only thing that I think got worse is that right now you have to squeeze the Airpod to skip tracks or play/pause. It doesn't work every time for me; I guess I have to get used to squeeze it in the right place. It was easier with the previous generation just to tap anywhere on the airpod to skip/play/pause tracks.

I just got mine. I couldn't figure out how to pause/skip tracks until I saw your post. I really preferred the "tap" functionality of the original AirPods compared to the "squeeze" that seems to now be required. Maybe my earlobes are big, but I'm finding it hard to get a good grip of the "handle" on the AirPod Pro in order to operate them.

I used to have "tap on left AirPod" meant pause/play and "tap on right AirPod" meant skip to next track. None of that seems to be configurable anymore :( I guess I'll get used to it.

I guess....I'll pick up some. I been wanting to trade in my X for an 11 anyway...for the camera since I can't tell much of a difference between the screens when I tested them out on Friday. So, iPhone 11 and AirPods Pro here I come...

If you, like me, picked up an iPhone 11 Pro Max for the camera - which I did - you won't be disappointed. I've taken some amazing shots with the phone. Much better, even, than the shots I took with my XS Max.

Ordered right after they went online.

Apple Store app says ”To Be Delivered Tomorrow”...on my order page In my account.

I click the ‘track package’ button..

UPS says “Out For Delivery” - obviously, to be delivered today..although, the did just move the delivery time back to later today.

...who is right?

I was in my first line in years at an Apple Store today. At my suburban store there were about ten of us waiting. The one in the city had a line around the block, I hear.

They sound great, for semi-closed buds. The noise cancellation is pretty incredible. Went to a noisy Whole Foods and shopped while experimenting. The squeeze to toggle between noise cancelation and "transparency" works really well. At the cashier, I clicked once to cut off Music, then squeezed to hear her.

The controls are different. I have tapped a couple of times, but I will get used to it. I'll be keeping my standard pair for using around home, but taking my Pros out on the street and to the gym.
