dont the current gen macbooks & macbookpros have multi-touch functionality now? i thought with the revision they received those features/functions?

eh, i dont know why apple would even consider aluminium for the macbooks or a blackborder for the MBP eesh!

Well, if you really want to get really picky...

The case design started with the Aluminium PowerBooks announced in January 2003. There is a superficial similarity with the G4 Ti, but only in that it was silver! In construction everything was different. I've taken several of both to pieces and there's no similarity whatsoever.

Most of the MacBook Pro design was carried over from the Aluminium PowerBooks, with the addition of the iSight necessitating the wider top bar on the screen, wider screen, and the introduction of the magnetic power connector.
:):apple:

And they can't bring it back?

Why not? The case itself has been around for about 4-5 years now, with little to no significant changes. And if you really want to get picky, the design started with the original TiBook.

Fake!

The MBP still has the button on it that releases the screen when it's opened. There is no way that Apple will not go to a magnetic lid on the new computers.

I'm new! Please don't be too harsh! I'm a website designer so have a keen eye for little things.

These are definitely fakes.

RE First image of the two laptops:
• Obviously the Tiger desktops
• Grammar on MP ad is all wrong, Apple wouldn't say 'Now in Aluminum + Mulit-Touch (They'd use a '&' or 'and')
• Typography on both ads is all wrong, espesially the rubbish Photoshopping on the MBP ad.
• If Apple were planning to use these ads together, I'm sure they'd photograph the laptops at the same angle, which these aren't

iTunes 8 Ad:
• Apple wouldn't reuse old artwork from the iPhone launch

Support Page (ft iPhone ad)
• Old image which doesn't include the WebApps Icon
• Text at the bottom is squashed when you zoom in
• *Really Geeky* the mock Apple Navigation bar at the top of the page is wrong. The Support button (highlighted) would include the right hand edge, like the Apple logo includes the left hand image. Also the drop shadow is much heavier than the original Apple navigation bar.

Sorry to bore...

Does it?, 87 GB here on my 2.16 C2D iMac and I have not noticed any slowdown whatsoever.
I was under the impression that the highest selling Mac was the Macbook, and (I guess because of the slower HD), the larger libraries I've used have all been slow with 1GB RAM, which is on the 2.1 model.

When you said highest selling I (wrongly) assumed you meant price and as such Mac Pro.

On my MB with 4GB ram 2.2GHz there is a slight slow down but surely this is to do with disk access speeds and as such won't really be speed up as the bottleneck is in the hardware not the software.

I still think the current MacBook Pro is better looking... why are they taking the imac design and putting it on a laptop.. can't they come up with something new? That will really motivate buyers to change their current MBP to the new ones...

Feel that these pics are fake for some of the reasons mentioned by others ... still, the pics make me smile in anticipation of what Ive will release next for those of us ready to drop thousands of $'s this summer.

Just have to correct on this one :D

That's on Apple.com, so the '+' sign is correct.

That keyboard looks out of proportion. I am typing this paragraph on a MacBook which is 13", and 13" is the only size available for a MacBook. So I don't see how the keyboard has shrunk by something like 4 centimetres between the sides. And what's even crazier is that if the screen shown there is the same 13" size, that means the body is even smaller because of the thinner frame.

Gosh, if you want to photoshop something you gotta get the proportions right!

P.S. who ever thought of using a black keyboard is out of this world... back to the old school days of the black keyboard MBP AKA PB...

I'm reflecting on this post. And reflecting is one of those things that lead you to realizations...

First off... the original "Pure Power. Pure Beauty." image... Anyone notice the reflection is all off?

How so?

The KEYBOARD is reflected on the desk. So unless those rumors of a mac made entirely of glass are true... this is a fake.

Other things:

- Size of the banners is off... Apple.Com features 4 banners that are all 236x155 pixels. One of these is 262x165 and the other is 257x166.. the wrong size.
- The text in one is typed over other text. The original text doesn't appear to be in Myriad Pro, apple's current signature typeface.
- No product name on the "Pure Power" banner.
- Tiger background
- No Finder
- No Dock
- No Macintosh HD icon

I've also included a banner that I made that's the right size, the right font, but an obvious fake. It's merely the top part of an iMac with the screen stretched out, with the bottom part of a MBP.

(PS... since Apple dropped the power branding (powerbook, powermac, etc) have they used the word power in any advertising?)

That last point is pretty sad, lol.

But looking at it now it seems obvious lol. Well noticed!

hope the don't put the mag latch in the pro, I hate that, i want to have a real lock, a real keyboard, I am a pro, i don't want the toy macbook everything (keyboard, poor latch)

Fake or no fake, on seeing the Alu MacBook, my veteran 12" PowerBook just sighed a deep sigh.

The kind of sigh a good-looking middle aged woman silently sighs when she catches her husband glancing at a pretty 21 year old across the road.

Thanks for that visual. ;)

I wonder if Apple has an actual team of workers who abolish any clear rumour attempts? It's possible.

Edit: Just noticed something too. The link above and the link to the iTunes Russia (see page 2 article) feature the same logo for Apple - but the tape faces are different.

Another Edit: And me being really sad, has just had a look at the page source for iTunes 8. Seems the page was made on iWeb, does Apple make their sites using iWeb or in code? I reckon code, so this is some prankster.

i think this is a fake.

the itunes account name can be made to be anything. you dont have to prove you own the domain name of the email address and you can link the account to another email address. for example my sister made her itunes account alex@badmintonrules.com.

she doesnt own badmintionrules.com or have a badmintonrules.com email address alas she can use it as her itunes account.
