Personally, I don't see an issue with a slightly taller iPhone. The button is useful and it would let them put in a slightly bigger battery.
I don't want a huge phone sticking out of my pockets. if I did I'd get a samsung galaxy.

The unfortunate truth.Seems a bit small for inductive charging actually... Unless there is something like the Watch's magnetic thing going on. Which isn't exactly cool if you want your phone to stay case-free and scratch-free.
It's going to be TouchID on the back, guaranteed, given all of the poor choices Apple has made.
you guys are so wrong that it's a 7S - stop spreading misinformation.
the "s"s are refreshes. This casing is new. There is nothing that looks like the 7 here.
With some logical reasoning, sure. But not just by saying so.
If you spend a bit of time and read Steve's thoughts and saw Steve's history of leaks (he's not an analyst), you could see how he came to such a conclusion.
But, as you've made it quite evident, you ignore some well stated thoughts and just arrive to a baseless conclusion.
Sooooooo just throwing it out there. That schematic doesn't show a TouchID on the back...it shows a hole.
That could just as easily be the Smart Connector/Charger variant for the iPhone that Apple has been working on:

Nah, glass will always look better. The iPhone 4 is by far the most unique and beautiful iPhone design ever made.

Wouldn't they just use the opening used for the logo that is already there for wireless charging, rather than making a new opening exactly the size of a touch ID button? Is it possible that the space in the back is for some type of (wireless) charging and not touch ID?

I can hear Steve saying this. As for Tim, I don't know if he has a sense of humour but regardless, I think you are onto something...Sorry Apple, but it is definitely a "NO" if touch ID is on the back. I've used Android phones that are like that and it is a pain.
I'm hoping that Apple is just trying to flood the market with false specs of different variations to keep people guessing right up to the official announcement.
I'd love to see Tim Cook come out and show the fingerprint sensor working underneath a bezel-less display and say, "What? You didn't think we were going to put it on the back did you?"
There's simply no way possible that Apple would do something as bone-headed as placing the sensor on the back. I don't even think that Tim Cook could possibly be that out of touch. A rear located sensor requires the unnatural holding of the phone. Almost everyone holds the phone on the sides, making the current location of the scanner very natural and easy to reach with the thumb. IMO, a sensor located on the rear would essentially require an entirely new re-programming of users in how they handle their phone.
Just not seeing it.![]()

And then when the iPhone 8, "Now with rear-facing TouchID!" Debuts, everyone will rave about how "courageous" Apple is for putting it on the back.I can promise you, Touch ID will not be on the back.
Where does your index finger rest? Does it wrap around the side, like you're holding a TV remote? Or is it resting perfectly in the middle of the back of the device, right where the new touch ID sensor will be placed....hmm
You know it's so similar to the 7 plus that maybe it is the anniversary edition. Maybe they knew they couldn't deliver the full "new" device this year so this is another irritive to hold people over.
so you believe this is the iphone 6 s s s edition? get it ? iphone 6 = iphone 7
