I had 3 keyboard repairs done. Every time replaced with the same failing lousy kb. From 10 - 15 days without my MBP.
Free of charge of course.

Easy to repair? Tell that to Apple, they should hurry up then with those repairs.

I suppose technically it *is* free. But the loss of your business machine for several weeks at a time, well there is nothing "simple" about that, other than it simply sucks.

Have you escalated this to them? Reached out to anyone at management level? What did they say?

Isnt Apple Care only for those whom purchase Apple products that are 34 years of age and younger? That is why i refused the service in 2017 when I had to buy an IPad because 36 year olds and older take care of their products. Since this Apple care is an extended service, new products are still warranted within a several month period if the item fails due to a malfuntion.
What!....."36 year olds and older take care of their products."
My old granny has worn out 6 walking sticks over the last 3 years........!

I'm genuinely curious to hear, since most people just whine on here and never spend a minute in the real world trying to escalate it.

Apple laptops still tend to last much longer than their competition.

A keyboard is a wear and tear item, so design flaw vs use at year 4 is debatable if you never had problems before.

The screen going is something they should extend for at least another year.

looks like you admitted publicly, they didn't lasts long (MBP), because 4 years isn't impressing for this kind of money

I have 11 years old Toshiba Qosmio (price in 2007 about $3000) and everything is working perfect, only needs new battery

4 years of daily banging on a 2 cent plastic key? I was more than happy to see it last that long. I haven't seen a Dell or Lenovo look like my MBP by the time I sold it.

Trackpad is showing some wear, but to be expected for 16+ years and being a "garage machine" the past decade :)

The keyboard is still in relatively good shape for the years though.

Calling surface beautiful? Hmmm

They're above average at best. My keyboard works just fine. I also have apple Care so can replace it if I have any problems.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the fact that they work flawlessly and I don't have to worry about failing parts makes them even more stunning. Too bad you had to pay so much extra for Apple Care just to have peace of mind, and what happens when it runs out?

Windows and flawlessly don't belong in the same sentence. Ever. Especially since we are taking huge steps backwards with 10.

I still think things like their track pad, their screens, the flash storage, etc are top notch.

Buy what you want then. I got tired of typical trash laptops, so I went apple. Been happy ever since.

And you are incorrect there. They do not last longer. And if you bought trash Windows laptops who is at fault there? It always amazes me how people will go cheap on Windows and then complain. As I speak I have a 13, yes 13 year old laptop going strong in my husband's office. He uses it to rip video to put up on our Media server. It was a gaming laptop circa 2004. And I also have an old Gateway that is even older. Good for you that you are happy with Apple. I enjoy my Mac as well. I also use and prefer Windows, and unlike you I am not so insecure that I need to put other systems down in order to feel better about my choice.

I have a working 2007 Dell that was over $2000 new. Doesn't change the fact it looks like garbage.

Insecure? Not at all. Used windows since 3.0. It's an inferior OS. 7 was great. 8 sucked. 10 is worse.

Now you are proving that you are just a fan, drunk on the Apple Kool aid. Yes all of my systems run flawlessly and Windows 10 is far more stable then MacOS at this point.

Funny considering since 2012 I never had a major issue with MacOS yet windows is problematic at least 1-2x/month.

Enjoy your windows. I really admire how they still suck at updates and still cant figure out a backup and restore solution that matches iCloud.

Never said that all. I'm saying it's hard to prove a design flaw at year 4. My 2013 keyboard had multiple failing keys near the end of year 3. Was that a design flaw too?

What do you mean it had multiple failures? According to you Apple last forever and all others are junk??!! You see the kind of contortions you are having to go through.. You are starting to contradict yourself. No even on the cheapest $200 machines the keyboards should not just fail.

I replaced that old dell keyboard as well.

You're trying way too hard.

Oh now you are really showing your ignorance. OneDrive runs circles around the pathetic iCloud. I can't even use iCloud on my Apple devices. Let me point out a few things.
1. There is not size limit on what you can put on OneDrive 1meg or 10 gigs. It all goes up just fine.
2. You can put any kind of file on OneDrive not just iWorks and other so called approved apps. You can't even put a text file on iCloud. I can store all my hardware (including Apple's) on OneDrive for easy access and install.
3. I have up to 5 terabytes of Space to use any way that I want without limitations.

And as for recovery, Apple is doing nothing more than an old fashioned back up that has been with us since tape was used. It is extremely time consuming and inefficient. Windows System restore blows it out of the water.

So you can get a new windows laptop and restore all apps, settings, and 500gigs of user files essentially making the identical laptop in about 45min? Because I just did that. And my new MBP is identical to my old one.

What's that? You can't? Poor windows.

Yes I can do all of that. At setup with a new Windows machine you can install and set it up just like any of the others. And Windows will keep everything in synch. You really should get out more. And I have many hobbies and I am a artist. I love painting. And I am in good company here in this thread. I would suggest that you get another hobby than being a fanboy for Apple and perhaps a different perspective on how the world works. You came into a thread where people who use Apple products are expressing their own actual experiences and disappointment and started a fan boy attack.

If you are not having any problems and are content that is all you needed to say: "I'm not jumping ship because Apple is working for me." as an example. For my part I love computers and I like MacOS. I also enjoy my iPad pro. I do Linux from time to time as well. I don't have to "jump ship" because I am on many different ports. But I still recognize all of the issues surrounding the new Macs.
