Living on the edge, I love it.

Considering the premium price of insurance that covers your own accidental drops here in Denmark, then it is most likely cheaper to have the phone repared every few years, rather than paying for insurance you may not need after all.

EDIT: I also really love the design and feel of the phones and the materials, so putting it in a bulky case ruins that experience.

I want to roll naked, but I’m just so used to using the official Apple leather cases for so long now that I can’t adjust to life without one.

Every iPhone I've had, from 3G to XS, has lived in a case. And most of them have had screen protectors as well. And they've all been covered with AppleCare.

I'm rough on phones. They go outdoors, get knocked around, get wet and dusty. They get shoved in the pockets of my jeans/shorts, bounced around in off-road vehicles, boats, golf carts, mountain bikes and running belts. I periodically have to replace my phone cases because they get so dirty and beat up. A naked phone would be trashed or completely broken in a matter of months (at best) with my usage.

Maybe I'm different from a lot of iPhone users in that I don't buy them to 'ooh' and 'ahh' over the luxury feel, marvel at the magnificent design, and/or feel the need to carry it naked to try to impress the world with which phone I have. I don't sit around admiring and caressing it. It's just a phone. It confers no status to the people around me, who couldn't care less what phone somebody owns. I stick with iPhones because I like how they work better than any other phone, they've been durable/reliable for me, and I'm familiar with how to use and configure them. And they go in cases and get screen protectors so I'm not constantly walking around with a damaged phone or going to the nearest Apple Store (2 1/2 hours away) for repairs/replacement.

The real question is what is everyone occupation who uses phones without cases?

my attorney friends who are primary in office and desk work. I’ve seen them go without cases

the guys involved in construction project design out in the field use thick cases.

I'm a Marine, electronics tech, teaching advanced electronics at our school house now. But before that I spent 4 years with Assault Amphibious Battalion, deploying, going to the field and never used cases. They annoy me and had to much bulk. Besides I always figured if I broke my screen or whatever, I've got the know how and tools available to fix it. I have yet to break a screen.

The XS Max I have is slippery when out of a case....I don't like bulky cases so I have an Apple leather case. It gives it just enough grip without adding too much bulk.

No I don‘t I ended up getting a screen protector and the Apple clear case I tried for a couple days to go without case but I just couldn’t the way I look at it the clear case is just that you can still see how beautiful the phone is while with added protection lol

I carry mine in a leather wallet like this. Luxury of being able to actually touch my phone instead of some cheap plastic case, but the confidence that it’s secured

I love the look of these, but I worry that I would be more prone to dropping it if I had to take it in and out of a pouch all the time. I went with Apple leather when I’m not using it caseless.

My iPhone Xʀ is in an Otterbox Figura, front and back tempered glass. My iPhone 5c has a tempered glass, no case. I like the way the plastic feels.

What if I told you that I have owned every single iPhone since the iPhone 3G and that I never used a case?

What if I also told you that I never dropped my iPhone? - You heard that correctly - I never once dropped my iPhone.

What if I also told you that I'm a heavy iPhone user, averaging between 2-3 hours a day texting and browsing the web?

I know people who own iPhones without cases and their phones look like crap after 1-2 months. They're all beat up and scratched and dinged. I also know people who owned an iPhone for several years without a case and their phone still looks virtually new.

It has a lot to do with your personality and how anal you are about the things you own. It's no different why some people own 20 year-old cars that look virtually new and other people own 2 year-old cars that look like they're 20.

I actually use the 11 Pro in a case more than I did the X and XS because the back is slipperier than those phones were. My only complaint about the 11 Pro so far. But the leather case is good so that works.

You and me both, brother. I just posted above that I use a case more often with the 11 Pro because the matte finish is kind of slippery but I really only use a case when I'm going out and about and there's more risk of maybe dropping it. Otherwise I try to keep a case off of it as much as possible. I'm with you that I generally don't drop phones.

Hi all, for the very first time i decided to go without any kind of film. I do not like bumper or whatever, but since 11 i've always used the clear coat film. I applied immediatly the clear coat once i had the 11 pro but it makes the back almost black.

After i've seen some durability test i decided to remove the film and go "bare". Now it' AMAZING (space grey).

What's your opinion?

Did the screen protector stick to the frosted back of the phone? Just curious about that.

i bought the clear case with my new iPhone 11 Pro but am thinking of not using it all

anyone have the guts?

i do have insurance through my credit card
I have a hard time believing some of the replies that claim they have never used a case for the last 10+ years and never dropped their phone and damaged it. I'm one of the most careful people I know and I never use screen protectors and have never had a scratch, but even I occasionally (as in maybe twice a year) am sitting down and put my phone in my lap and forget it's there and stand up and it falls to the ground. Usually when I'm getting out of my car. I always have a minimal case (usually Apple's thin leather one) that has saved me each time.

I don't care how careful you are, everyone is going to eventually drop their phone. I guess if it's that important to you to use a naked phone, then I guess it's worth the money to get it repaired. Doesn't make any sense to me though.

I‘m going ceaseless this time, I got Apple Care so if the screen breaks it costs less to replace than a case typically. If I use both incidents then I’ll get a case and if I end up keeping it past two years (seems doubtful but you never know) I’ll get a case one Apple Care expires.

Nope, I am on the go way too much. Case + screen protector for every iPhone I own.

At home, I will sometimes take off my case when I’m laying across my bed or lounging on the sofa and use it for however long I’m going to do so on that space.

Otherwise, the case stays on except for case changes, to wipe down the phone, or check/clean the inner case for stray debris.
