My favorite part is that the red dot has been reduced to a thin red circle! Wish they could get rid of it entirely, but this is much better than leaving it the way that it was.
That watch face is way too cluttered. I mean, it’s kinda nice to have an option for an information dense display, and it makes sense if the new display face is bigger that they could pack more in. But things that look like this are supposedly the reason that Apple hasn’t allowed third party developers to design custom watch faces—it makes the watch look bad. That being said, they did about the best job you could possibly do when it comes to fitting that many complications on the display at once. I didn't even notice the calendar event text until I had looked at it for full minute.
I thought it was interesting that the original story on 9to5Mac didn't say anything about the rose gold stainless steel enclosure.
If legit wouldn’t apple have asked these sites to pull the image by now ?
Indeed. MacRumors talks of a "massive leak" and references 9TO5Mac but they, in turn, make no mention of how they acquired the pictures."accidentally"![]()
Yes. Absolutely.Do you really believe Apple wants a marketing image like this to leak ahead of time?
No. It's free pre-publicity to maximize the coverage of the official announcements. If legit wouldn’t apple have asked these sites to pull the image by now ?
Perhaps surprisingly, there is only one analogue style watch face that has customisable tick marks that can be set to display numbers 1 to 12, as per the previous correspondents request. The other analog watch faces all have customizable details for the tick marks...
Possibly battery life. Though they could easily set guidelines and enforce them.Perhaps surprisingly, there is only one analogue style watch face that has customisable tick marks that can be set to display numbers 1 to 12, as per the previous correspondents request.
I still don't understand why Apple have not made the watch face available to third-party developers and apps. Nor why they insist that all their own selection (of largely unimaginative) watch faces must be "watch faces with complications". There is no good reason to restrict the primary "screen on your wrist" to being an imitation watch.
Too much information in a small space. My iWatch3 is often frustrating to use. Instead of showing me the time, it's either telling me the news, my cardio info, email alerts, weather alerts, or all of the above in a jumble of display data that is entirely distracting from simply presenting the time when I turn my wrist.
noise cancelling is usually what extra mics are forWhy would it need an extra mic?
For me, even being able to set timers using siri is worth it. (except i have to be careful for some numbers, it usually tries to set a timer for 50 minutes when trying to set one for 15 minutes)Quick question: What is the benefit of having an Apple watch? Why is everyone so excited about these new changes? I had a series 1 that i got for free when i signed up for a new checking account. I sold it after a month since i used it for about 2 days then never put it back on. Screen wasn't that responsive, really small (i had the bigger size), and didn't really help with anything. Replying to messages was extremely limited and didn't work well.
The only thing that i think is a great thing is LTE. If I can leave my phone in the car when i go to the beach and still have access to my phone, that might be worth it, but how often do those situations arise... I will most likely pass on the watch, i don;t think it's for me unless someone can explain why it's so useful and a must-have. I don't think they look particularly aesthetic so looks wouldn't be a reason to buy for me.
Agreed. It’s awful. Amateurish. That Watch face looks way too busy. What are you supposed to be glancing at? I wouldn’t even know what to look at there’s just too much noise there. At least make it look nice, I don’t understand anyone saying how it does. Just a cluster of information slapped on the front with no thought put behind it. Then again that’s what I’ve been to myself about all of Apples software descions as of late.

With half of the crowd complaining about boring- and other half about overcrowded watchfaces, why not free users to make their own watchfaces ?Agreed. It’s awful. Amateurish.
Are we sure this came from Apple?
Yep, same
It's Been ok but I can't use it for apps since 2016 and it's only good for the time or notifications.
Will be good to use a fast watch at last.
Looking back, series 0 was a mistake and a rip off really and not ready for public use.
I'm not sure but it could also mean the merging of LTE vs Wi-Fi models of the Apple Watch. As in no more Wi-Fi only model. So this gold ring image is supposed to represent the new digital crown for Gold watch?

Apple will unveil the Apple Watch Series 4 models alongside new 2018 iPhones on September 12, at a 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time
We don't need anything tbh.Not one peep, or leak anywhere in the last few months about the processor in the Series 4. This is the heart and soul of the watch. Sure hope they have upgraded it.
Why? It’s probably one I’d use. I don’t get the hate for it. And you don’t have to use a complication in every one of those spots. I’m not sure why people are freaking out over it.Agreed. It’s awful. Amateurish.

What Watch face are you using? There are several that show the time and nothing else. And you can tweak notifications if you don’t want them showing up on your watch. But if all you want is the time I’m not sure why you have an Apple Watch in the first place.Too much information in a small space. My iWatch3 is often frustrating to use. If it’s legit they will be showing it off. If it’s legit I will be using it with my new Watch.Jeez that watch face is comically bad. I'll be speechless if they actually show it off during a demo in the keynote.
Apple won't allow third party watch face development: Developers would design cluttered interfaces that would mar Apple's "beautiful design".
If Apple can overstuff the screen then it shouldn't be that big of a deal for 3rd parties to do so.
How is that any different than any other poorly designed watch app?Just as a point of clarity...
Apple's resistance to 3rd party faces probably has very little to do with how those faces would look and is instead related to how those watch faces would perform. In order for 3rd party devs to be able to develop watch faces Apple would need to give devs control of the watch face itself, this presents a problem for Apple because presumably a poorly designed watch face could lead to problems with performance, battery life, and stability.
