Any thoughts on the SoC? The CPU part is clear but what about the GPU? Is a PowerVR GX6650 enough to get the claimed numbers or did they do something really crazy?

It's criminal they barely updated the mini and kept it's price the same. I guess mini matching the air's specs was short lived. Don't be surprised if the smaller iPhone gets gimped in the future.

I like the iPad Air design, I'm glad they stuck with it and didn't make it look similar to the iPhone 6, I don't like the look or feel of the 6.

Me neither and I'm with you., and I for one am a fan of the edges... but I do think they should be more consistent with their hardware look. Aside for the ugly or pretty arguement.

No Air 2 for me

I am a iPad 3 owner. After the A8X leak, I was hoping for a Retina HD x3 display(3072x2304). So now I am waiting for the iPad Pro/Maxi/Air Plus. At 12.9" x3, that would be 4096x3072.

The smaller iphone is already gimped.

6+ for LIFE!!!

They drummed it up a bit too much for what they have in store this year.

Much of which had been requested and demanded before.

Apple used to surprise a lot more, there used to be a lot more delivery of things we didn't know we want.
Now I know several things I'd like that I wouldn't even get with this year's Apple tech. Software or hardware-wise.

PS: I'm well aware of the competition and Apple still has the best products out there, so if anyone feels like telling me to shop the alternatives, it's not like the grass is greener somewhere just because I feel like it.

Glassed Silver:mac

Exactly... I mean, who didn't know (even without rumors) that it would be a bit faster, a bit thinner and have touch ID? I mean, that was a BARE MINIMUM set of upgrades and that was all we got?! Lame IMO.

I'm impressed it's thinner. That's pretty wild. Not compelling, but wild.

Really?

Was hoping for the rounded edges to match my 6 Plus. Those diamond cut chamfered edges feel like razor blades in my palms now compared to my 6 Plus.

Probably because its a recycled 4S/5 camera. 5S module if generous.

Most likely that's the case. I didn't actually expect them to put the same camera in the iPad too. Just poking fun at all the people that complain about the protruding camera. (even though I'm one of those people that isn't overly fond about it)

Looking at the specs, the only difference I can see for the mini 3 is touch ID (and available in gold). If so, seems ridiculous to me to have the jump in version number from "2" to "3"...

Boring presentation, boring iPad... It didn't add anything new! It's about time some multitasking, and yet, the great new iPad air 2 is... Thinner...

Multi-tasking isn't new. My Amiga could multitask in the 1980s. Your disappointment is boring.

A few thoughts:

- I thought they were stalling for the first 30 minutes but finally they got to a point.
- I'm disappointed in the fact that the A2 has no flash.
- The RAM question for the A2 still remains....
- Dell and Apple will fight it out for the title of thinnest tablet. As for the sales battle, there will be no fight.
- Looking forward to benchmarks and reviews of the $500 Mac Mini.
- No new iPod Touch. I was hoping for one but didn't expect it.
- No updates to any iPod. Is the game up for the lower iPods??
- The iPad Mini lineup looks interesting except for the mini 3. That thing is overpriced.

:apple:

Once again who actually takes pictures with their tablets? Buy a camera or an iphone.

I take pics with my iPad all the time, videos too. Why? Because it's usually handy. I usually take them of my grandkids. My 7 year-old granddaughter loves me to take videos of her standing on her head, trying to do cartwheels, etc. she loves seeing them immediately after. We have a great time doing it. I would love a flash so I could do the same thing at Christmas while they decorate the tree. The ones I took the last few years are a bit dark.

Yes, I could use my camera but the iPad is just more fun.

Time is of the essence...

My work colleague from Glasgow will be here in the Boston area from Saturday through Friday October 24. If I get on-line and place an order straight away on the 17th (he wants the Gold 64GB wi-fi for his wife), what do you think my chances of success are of it coming in while he is here? And should I focus on store-pickup (in my case, Nashua, NH)? I wonder whether the 'pre-order' would even let me do a 'store pickup' option?

disappointing. I will hold on my iPad 3 and wait for the pro next year. I REALLY hope they include stylus support.

Anyone know where I can get the picture from that are used for the Air 2 on Apple's website, it looks amazing.
