Apple Announces iPhone 4 with Retina Display, HD Video Recording, More

The only reason why there's any hate about this new iPhone is because of the jealous bots who's contract has them tied up and they can't upgrade at this time, well too bad. :p
 
it's not 4G?

Am I the only noting that this is still a 3G phone? I thought it was going to be 4G... all the screenshots show either WiFi or 3G symbol. Methinks this is why AT&T is being so "generous" w/ their 6 month early upgrade ability - because they want to lock you into 3G for another 2 years.

Awesome stuff.

Can't wait for september. I wan an iPod touch with that screen and back camera. I can go without a front facing camera. Pack in 128 GB of storage, and I'm in for whatever it costs.
 
No 64GB, no sale! I'm not going backwards from my iPod touch.

There's actually more keynotes and many sessions this week which will introduce new innovations for developers. That's why you're seeing about 25 - 30% WWDC within Steve Job's keynote.
 
Will be upgrading from my 3G, no brainer really, would have liked a 4" screen and maybe 64gb (didn't they say the phone found had 80GB?)...but all in all can't wait to enjoy the faster processor, amazing resolution, camera and video.

No phone is ever going to be perfect, there will always be someone wanting something more, but this looks like it's going to be my new favourite toy! :D

AT&T doesn't have a 4G network, so why in the hell would anyone have expected this to be a 4G phone? It was obvious AT&T would remain the exclusive carrier.

On top of the fact that it's actually going to be cheaper to deliver data over a 4G network. Apple will get serious about 4G when the wireless industry gets serious about LTE. No sooner.
 
Question..
since it is micro sim can we take it out of the iphone and put in the ipad? this would be really cool if we get grandfathered in to the unlimited data thing.
 
Can this small LED flash be sufficient for indoor photos? I'm really hoping it can, though I see other comments in this thread implying it is useless. I won't be making large prints. I just need photos to look decent on my website, and my indoor 3gs photos definitely do not look decent.

..that is the deal breaker for me..video chat for WIFI only..i think im keeping my 3GS :rolleyes:

Apple did not make first laser printer. Xerox invented it and the first commercial one was the IBM 3800.
 
Sounds like a really nice phone. I have the 3G right now and just went and purchased the Sprint HTC EVO, which is another great phone.

I think both offer great things to their customers. I decided the EVO was best for me and what I like, but that iPhone is nice as well.

Why is it if some expresses that they are not pleased or unimpressed with the announced upgrade there is a visceral response? I was excited for the iphone announce but was quickly disappointed by the lack of anything else.

I guess when you expect more you will undoubtedly be disappointed.

I think forum has become a Jr. high school playground.

If you are only happy if people agree with you than I suggest you watch Fox News. You know everybody on that show will agree with each other.

No, it'll be available in Australia in July, likely towards the end of the month. Same goes for Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
 
apple, you had me at A4...

this next iphone is such a significant improvement - almost everything has been completely improved - design, processor, screen, OS, cameras, etc...

amazing....

and with my AT&T 3G Microcell, life is completely good.
 
I assume video chat is Wi-Fi only because more than occasional usage would be astronomically expensive with AT&T's new data plans. Also, AT&T's network probably couldn't handle the data load.

I'm disappointed at iPhone 4 not having 512mb RAM. Multitasking isn't very useful without plenty of RAM, and RAM is cheaper than dirt. At least allow a paid upgrade, like you can with storage.

Where's my Retina Cinema Display? :cool:
