Intel has not released any updated CPUs as of yet.

Intel is slow, corona or not, they always delay. Also, what happened to the days of Apple getting early access to chips and reliable yearly updates? Oh do I miss Macworld in Jan, basically a given you would get hardware updates.

there is almost nothing to not like about this new iPhone SE. it think apple really delivered here for those who do not need or want the latest and greatest cameras and screens but prefer to use / need access to iOS and appreciate the fast CPU, additional RAM and faster LTE and Wi-Fi speeds compared to the 8 and before. Only reason i can't order this yet is because apple stores are not open so I can't get a glass screen protector fitted ! sucks

Same. I am a current SE owner and plan on upgrading to the new SE. My biggest reason is the increased battery life, everything else is gravy!

it does. but white iPhones haven't had black glass and white back since 3g/3gs days. The bezel is so small on iPhone XR/11 compared to 6/7/8 only in screen off mode could you take note of this contrast. So it feels like a first go round of this combo in a while

(red) has already had its fun with this on iPhone 8, the switch up from white front/red back on 7.

No one cares about this except for people on places like macrumors. $399 for a smaller iphone with the latest processor and a good camera is a steal. They will sell tons of these.

iPhone XR outsold every other smartphone at $750 last year. The new SE will sell well.

That's not how VAT math works. In order to get 419 with 20% VAT you must have a non VAT price of 349, not 319.20.

As someone who played with a 4" iPhone SE recently and noticed how incredibly claustrophobic the display is and how hard it is to use most apps with so little information on the screen... How are so many people upset at the lack of a 4" screen?

Most apps aren't even built for even a 4.7" screen anymore!

I don't think it's the 4" screen that people like, but the smaller chassis that is easier to hold. If they were able to increase the size of the screen in something close to the same body size (significantly smaller than the new SE) that would be awesome! But that wouldn't be an SE, that would be part of a new flagship line, I assume.

I held out hope for some time that an updated SE would come out at the same size body, but I get what you're saying and I too have felt the claustrophobia recently. Several apps I use clearly expect me to be on a 4.7" screen or better. So I've gradually warmed to the thought of having the larger phone. I mostly use my phone two-handed anyway.

What I think I will miss as much from the smaller chassis? The sleep switch being on the top of the phone. Darn you, muscle memory! *shakes fist at sky*
