By the way, I was always surprised that Apple was able to call its computers "Macs", as I thought McDonald's might have secured the trademark for that name when they invented the "Big Mac".

I guess there will be so little to see so they chose to playback the recorded event at a time which in large parts of the world is nighttime.

Given that there is a dedicated event I think the chances are high that the entire Mac lineup gets the M3 simultaneously… or something else is in the cards. Otherwise they won't have much to talk about to make it a dedicated event in the first place.
While not impossible, I am pretty sure Apple has never updated its entire line-up of Macs all at once.

I'd expect the "oldest" current Macs to get updated at this event:

However, there's always the chance that M2 sales have been abysmal and Apple's bottomline needs some TLC before the year rings out.

So maybe they'll jump scare us all which a bucketload of M3 Macs, even ones with M3 Pro and better?

Hopefully that finally means we get the M3 chip and hopefully it'll be a real upgrade over M2 with ray tracing and console level performance. I'm currently saving up for the M3 iPad Pro next year because I gave my 12.9" iPad Pro 2020 to my sister, and while I do have issues with iPadOS, the iPad is still great for note taking, drawing, playing games and viewing content. Fingers crossed that the M3 chip in the iPad Pro allows Apple and other developers to bring REAL pro apps like Pixelmator Pro, a full version of Final Cut Pro (not the half-$553d version we got last May), Blender, Topaz apps, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, you get the idea. I know we won't get the iPad Pro at this event, but it'll at least give us an idea of what the next iPad Pro will be like when it comes out next Spring
