So you just point things out that have no effect on you? Arite.

----------

Give it up.

LOL - first - it's AFFECT. Not effect. Second - I'm pointing out your (and other people's) hypocrisy. You trying to turn that into some straw man argument that I'm affected by it has no bearing on my point.

But just so we're clear - I am quite happy with my iPhone 4. I think the 4 OR the 4S would make a great purchase because they are great phones. At the same time - different strokes for different folks - and those that enjoy Android phones can enjoy their phones too. What other people buy and use has no affect on whether or not I enjoy my phone. Nor do I need to put down other phones to make myself feel better about my phone.

Perhaps you need to give it up LOL.

The international body which defines these things - ITU - did state last December that HSPA+ can be called 4G.

So yeah AT&T and others can safely call it 4G without fear of lying.

Wow apple has a cult following, Apple could of put out a 4S with just A5 and it would of sold like hot cakes. Might have to pick up one of this bad boys, don't want to feel left out, lol
There is no Apple cult. They just make good products. Unlike a cult, you won't get punished if you switch to another product. Unlike in a cult, you aren't threatened to use their products. That's the main difference from being a fan of something, and following a cult. And people still, despite this, use their products. So there is another reason.

Plain old-fashioned good products and good marketing. Boring?

If the 4S sucked, it wouldn't beat most if not all of the competition at optical quality, speed, display sharpness / dot pitch. I see little competition with these features as well as an AI assistant of Siri's quality in the same mobile phone. And that's how you sell. You may not like these features, you may not be perfectly in their market segment, but obviously many are, or they wouldn't purchase this phone.

Wow, that sucks. Only 1,000,000 in the first 24 hours? What a total failure.

It reminds me of the time I took my SATs and scored 1,000,000. As you can imagine, I was so embarrassed.

I was one that upgraded from 4 to 4S
Ya, me too. I actually bought a 2 32g 4s phones, one for me and one for my wife.

You mean like the android owners who own an Atrix "4G" or Inspire "4G" who get the same exact 14.4Mbps speed as an iPhone 4S?

Do those people think they have 4G?
Lol, there's a lot of people who need to calm down a little bit. I love your post, EstrlM3, very true!

I don't know why people are so surprised, I will say it again, many factors have made this happen unlike other releases:

1: 17 months since the last one came out, that is a massive wait, people are not eligible for early upgrades/upgrades, many people's contracts have probably expired etc.

2: new countries are getting the phone on the 1st day, unlike previous times, wasn't the iPhone 4 only released the USA the 1st month or something? The countries such as the uk, australia etc were able to pre-order/buy them?

3: Many people have been waiting for years on just a 3g/3gs, new features have come, many people will not want to wait about 16 months for the 5 to come out, so they are only now jumping ship.

This iPhone will be successful, no doubt about it, But i reckon the average joe who has an iPhone 4, and doesn't even know the difference in terms of performance, will not get the latest one.

I mean, 90% of people probably don't even think the phone is different.

Don't understand this forum, why the downs for speaking the truth? Is it to justify your own reason for upgrading? Some people might not take pictures or play games on their phone so feel not to upgrade or purchase a 4 (what i'm looking at)

LOL...Before I respond...did you really just try to correct my grammar?? haha...nice job of deflecting what was actually said. What are you so mad about?

Aren't you a hypocrite too? You're here whining about other people whining. Get over it, and move on.

+1

(Sprint Customers) + ((3G + 3GS Users) * (likelihood of replacing with an iPhone)) = Apple can sell all the 4S phones they can make

I don't think the 4S will have the "legs" of the iPhone 4 though. It will have a 12 month life as the premier iPhone at most.
