Have they scrapped the annual March Special Event?

What’s the point in building the Steve Jobs Theatre if it’s only going to hold one event a year in Sept.

That building is most likely used much more than you think it is, there was a shareholder meeting not long ago, and it will be a lot more for internal use.

They do, they design their own.

Unicode adds them. Apple, Samsung, Google, Microsoft, etc each add their own design but they have to first be defined by Unicode. People seem to think Apple can simply add a monkey standing on its head. They can't unless Unicode votes to add such an emoji within the standard.

looks like a 3D look to me. as your eye or head tilt the UI will as well. the animation looks like when you first go to the home screen it will load like the animation. i personally liked the more real 3D look that they use to have.

I'd love to see a blend between the flat design and skeuomorphism. It would look absolutely gorgeous on those new screens. Really digging this image.

Given macOS and all iOS requires 64bit now, the next release will clean up and be 64bit only. All 32bit stuff are gone, along with other low level changes.

Let's call it OS Eleven.

You know, that's not a bad idea. A new OS signalling a new start & a new platform (Marzipan)

Another conference to announce new emojis!

I know, right? The last few even
Reminds me of those (good) times you could change/hack most of the UI elements, and then there was Iconbox and an UI changing App I can't recall the name of, or was it shapeshifter!?

I remember using Kaleidoscope a bit in the pre-OS X days (I'm old). Also used CandyBar a bit to replace system icons.

Really? I don’t see any skeuomorphism in this.
This is as skeuomorphic as anything Forstall's ever done. Just using different materials:

Looks awesome – skeuormophism is back, baby! ;)

If you go to the full picture, on the developer site, can see more of the graphic. Something that stands out to me?

Is the floating round balls that have the X - and <> in them. Same as the Red, Yellow, Green flat circles in upper left of open windows of applications. So, I'm thinking OS X interface in some sort of Iron Man virtual touch screen computer :D

I’ve just checked it out. It looks exactly like the Aqua buttons before they flattened everything. The only problem is they only flattened the OS three years ago and I can’t see them going backwards or returning to the old look which leads me to believe this is just fancy artwork and doesn’t indicate any return to 3D/skeumorphic design. It’s a shame if it doesn’t because I vastly preferred it back then, then again given the above image this would be misleading to people expecting a similar design change to the image they chose. Why would they choose 3D looking artwork when they’re all about flat design these days? So maybe their software will have some form of depth towards it. I really hope so but I won’t get my hopes up.
