Boot Camp Assistant

I believe Boot Camp Assistant with Windows 7 support may possibly be apart of this upgrade. I've been checking Apple's website about info for this support. I just checked now they have modified their statement about when Boot Camp will be updated. They had stated previously that Boot Camp should be updated by the end of the year. As of 1/6/2010, the update statement now reads:

"This support will require a software update to Boot Camp that we plan to release as soon as it's ready."

I guess that's one way of telling us what's happening!!!

:confused::eek::confused:

fix issues copying files on to time capsule

few things, speed up safari, make it more compatible, fix issues with transferring files to the time capsule (as a hard drive, not backup) and make itunes 64 bit - for ***** sake windows has 64 bit itunes are you freaking kidding apple

10.6.2 came with an inability to see in QuickLook.

It opens a screen that remains blank, every time. Absolutely crap, but not really a major problem. The stability of the system is good. I can finally use Adobe stuff without constant crashes, or any crashes.

If someone hasn't upgraded, 10.6.2 is ok, but I bet 10.6.3 is the upgrade that will be the one to get.

Your video card (9600) is probably messed up. You should take it to the support people so they can have a look.

But the crashes never happened on Leopard, plus my Mac is no longer under warranty :(

I had only a few minor problems with Snow Leopard and Snow Leopard 10.6.2 is so much better than Leopard 10.5.2. Fixing bugs is a good thing though ;)

maybe it would be better/helpful if people stated which machine they are using, while listing their problems/or none. just a thought.
the only problem I've had was losing the printer twice but easy to get back, minus that 10.6.2 has been problem free.

Airport Drops?

Anything on the constant Airport Drops? Someone please tell me that's what "Resolves some panics in networking" means. Please say yes.

The application itself is 32-bit on both Windows and OS X. However on Windows some drivers that come with iTunes are 64-bit cause you can't use 32-bit unsigned device drivers on 64-bit version of Windows.

I am getting real sick of the beach-balls and program crashes. I really miss the stability of Panther and Tiger.

Hopefully they will have fixed ATI cards with the Matrox MXO. I have to stay on 10.6.1 at the moment because 10.6.2 ballsed something up with the ati cards such as the X1900. Matrox can't currently get their Snow Leopard drivers to work with ati cards and 10.6.2 so they have to recommend sticking with 10.6.1.

666MB? Kick-arse.

My installation of 10.2 doesn't have any problems, regardless, I can't wait for 10.6.3 and to see what it brings. :)

Wow, you're still on Jaguar? It's gonna be a big jump from 10.2 to 10.6, never mind 10.6.3. I thought I was being conservative before jumping on SL, as I'm still on Tiger 10.4.11, but you take the cake... Jaguar, 10.2, huh? I'm impressed! Can't wait to hear what you think of it!!!

yea, i hope he meant 10.6.2, cuz 10.2 was buggy as hell for me. 10.4, I can understand, but 10.2?

I just bought an old clamshell iBook - something I've always wanted to do. It came with Panther installed but no discs and I wanted to do a fresh install but I only had the disc for Jaguar.

It is amazing to see how primitive OS X was back then - and I had thought I could remember it pretty well. I had even forgotten about the Internet Connect app. Anyway, it's a nicely upgraded machine, wifi card and all - except that I found out one other thing about Jaguar ... no ability to connect to WPA networks!

Thankfully I think I can get hold of a 10.3 disc - sure it was fun for a short time being back in the land of the pin-stripe OS, but I was most surprised about that lacking.

Personally I could even understand being still on 10.3. Having no Dashboard would not be a bad thing - hey I wouldn't have to keep bringing up its bugs! - but it was pretty much the height of interface inconsistency as far as OS X goes.

If they decide to fix the screenshot bug, that would be just swell.

Has anyone seen a problem where screenshots just don't get saved to a file on the desktop?

Is this service pack 3 for SL? That's an awful lot of updates in a few months.

Historically, five months is a bit early for the .3 release but not far out of line. By comparison, 10.4.3 came in six months and 10.5.3 in seven.

After reading this thread, all I have to say is that I've installed SL on my 4 Macs ranging from an iMac to an Air and have ZERO problems. While 10.6.3 is interesting, it is in no way necessary.

no mention of fixes to the X3100 graphics drivers.

Poor performance, display corruption etc. Come on Apple. It works perfectly (and performs far better) in Windows. Even the Linux drivers for it are better.

It is necessary for the other people who DOES have problems. Not every hardware is the same and not every user is the same either.

I hope they fix this:

When I use "Better Battery Life" in System Preferences > Energy Saver > Graphics, everything is fine. However, if I set that option to "Better Performance", my system just keeps crashing (rebooting on its own, freezing forever, kernel panics, and so on) regularly.

Has anyone else had this? It's super annoying as you can probably imagine, and it's an extremely "major" issue.

I have a Unibody, Late 2008 MacBook Pro 15 inch.

The update's 666 MB size certainly indicates that it's going to be evil! Whatever that means.

I had that problem in 10.6.1 but it seems to have gone away in 6.2. Atleast... I think. In any case, I'm always excited for updates =D

Even though it is obviously a software bug and you have gone beyond your warranty, you should report it to Applecare. Those of us not on bug report lists have no other option, except perhaps sending an email directly to Steve Jobs.

There should be a second tier of bug report apparatus so Apple can catch the stuff real users experience. They probably would not want that to be public in the form of a blog or forum, however. :D

yeah iTunes has continued to piss me off since upgrading to 9. It hangs and now I'm having a problem with apps for my iPhone. I've deleted them but they continue to download and now I get errors saying I need to redownload them!

Please fix!
