I just ordered a black 64GB from AT&T at 9:10am PST. All checkout pages through the ordering process state my phone will arrive on 9/21 and on my final receipt. Also stated twice that my card will be charged the day of shipment. Only a hold for the purchase amount is placed on the card now.

i preordered 3 phones once the apple.com site was up... i checked every half hour from 12am to 3:30 am and it finally came up at 3:30 the site before said down due to maintenance.... i have october 2nd and two october 5th dates... what sucks is i was up trying from midnight and the site was down... i actually ordered 2 more from att this mourning at 8:30am cuz i had two more upgrades and i had got an email that says sept 21st on those... two years ago with the ip4 i was able to get it the day before THE launch and i preordered at 6am lol just so upset right now!

This is horrible. I tried changing my payment method bc I wanted to use the AMEX, and when I logged in to view my order, I saw this:

"Payment action required: We are unable to obtain an authorization for the credit card you provided. Please contact your card issuing bank. Please update your payment method to continue with this order."

So I thought, well, that's odd since my CC I used last night should have worked, but no worries --- great, I will update my payment info since that's what I wanted to do anyway with the AMEX.

When I tried to do this, it is asking for my Apple ID to log in. Problem is my Apple ID is NOT linked with this order. I didn't link them last night. So now I cannot get into my order and after 1 hour on hold with 1800MYAPPLE, they are completely useless and cannot help me.

Now I'm screwed.

I'm surprised to see that it looks like most people are ordering the 16gb and 32gb models. I ordered my 64gb Black last night at 12:07pm PST and sailed through the Apple Website. I have the full charge applied to my CC and delivery set for 9/21.

Getting the same thing here. AT&T existing customer here, ordered through Apple Store's website. Went right through, but I did have to re-authorize my credit card at around 7:30 this morning.
 
64 GB white on Sprint. At the time of order (about 12:40 AM Pacific time) it showed delivery as 9/21. Now the Apple store just tells me "oops, something went wrong" when I try to check on it.

But I got the confirmation email as soon as the order was placed and this morning I woke up to 2 email notifications from my credit card (one for the phone, the other for the insurance) timestamped less than 4 hours later that total the entire amount of the purchase. The website for my card confirms the two charges are pending.

I'm a newbie so I hope these are all good signs.

Ordered phone 1 at 3:20, phone 2 at 3:25. Still haven't received confirmation email, but checking order status now shows that we are process with delivery of 9/21.
 
Ordered 2 phones on 2 separate orders:

2:49 Central - email stated 9/21 delivery - now 9/21 delivery

2:52 Central - email stated 9/21 delivery - now 10/5 delivery

I'm lucky that my phone is coming 9/21. But then maybe I'm unlucky that my wife's phone is coming 10/5!
 
Ordered at 3:17 AM EST and just logged in to see it's still showing delivery on 9/21. It's also been posted to my CC already.

Still showing processing.
 
Finanlly got through at 434am after trying both Apple and AT&T sites using 4 browsers countless times.

I seen this same message near my order just a little while ago. I called my credit card company, and they resolved the issue for me. Apple then sent me a email 5 mins later saying everything is ok now and my order will go through.

I think they'll ship them the 20th overnighting them remember there was an article about Fedex preparing for a big event. I think early deliveries wont happen.
