There's a lot of crap flinging in here at Samsung and Android.
I must remind these iPhone users of something very important that it seems they're conveniently forgetting. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are catch-up products.
Just about every feature iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus have, Samsung and other Android manufacturers have been producing for many years prior.
I've used just about every flagship Android phones in addition to my iPhones for several years (work and home). There are things that both platforms have.
There are stuff on iOS that Android only just got or still have not got that makes iOS preferable for many people. It is base on your use case.
-For years, Android never got working Cisco VPN. Just recently and it is still kludgey. 5-6 years. CalDAV is supported by 3rd party apps but iOS treates it like a 1st party solution. If you are not using Google's calendar service, you are at the mercy of the 3rd party apps that aren't that good in my opinion. Same thing with PUSH IMAP.
-For years, I still have not seen a good photo management solution for organizing photos. For example, if I take pictures of a wedding, I may want to have the picture of the couple's toast first, the vows secondly. In Android organization is based on alphabetical naming, EXIF, or creation date. You can't randomly sort and arrange like you do on iPhoto. There is still no good 3rd party Play Store apps that match iPhoto or iMovie on Android.
- For years, music management is still better on iOS. I have 20,000 tracks and I can have 5 different computers and 10 iOS devices play from the same library at the same time. I can stream music to multiple speakers in my house across multiple floors. My wife can stream music in the kitchen to the patio at the same time while I stream to the bedroom and my office. All from the same account. I can play my music from my office while my wife plays the same library in the car. My kids can play the same library at home all at the same time. Google Play works with only one device at a time. Apple AirPlay is still undisputed for multi-room streaming and it is free. No need for Sonos.
- For years, for my workflow, managing cloud servers and databases was still better on iOS due to the better app selections. My use case, iOS ecosystem is better.
I'm not saying Android is bad. I liked my HTC ONE for the 1st month. I got me a 128GB micro-sd card then I found out Google is locking that down. 3rd party apps are sandboxed and siloed. The biggest benefit of Android over iOS was gone (ability to use sd card expandability). Then my camera easily gets scratched because HTC didn't think it was worth it to use sapphire on the camera lens (this is a big and common problem). It was those little details that bothered me. The HTC does have a better audio DAC but I still want better. I want to power my $600 headphones but the Android solution is klunky with USB OTG-dongle and external DAC. Now, 3rd parties are coming out with Lightning connector 24 bit DACs.
So it is the little things that makes iOS appealing for many people.
