Would probably snag this up if they keyboard works. Just my fright of getting a new computer with a non functioning keyboard has been holding me back at this point lol. Hoping they allow for more customization too now that they have 8 cores. That's even more heat than the 6 core, I'd love a MBP that allows me to snag the lowest baseline 8 core model with the lowest Vega model. I want mine as quiet and cool as possible while still getting the newest architecture in it for those added benefits.

Unless they have to buy now, people should probably wait to see what problems the early purchasers find.

This seems more like an emergency update to address the keyboard issues.

Faster is nice but already the MBP runs very hot.
Agreed - we very well could see a newer design this summer boasting better thermals and 16".. making the line up
13
15
16 (starting somewhere in the neighborhood of $4000 and only for demanding Pros)

don't give up hope. and also don't buy into this marketing of apple simply releasing a new keyboard for repairs but their marketing team had to tie it onto something so they beefed up the i9...……………

Think of this as the iPhone X event.. ( 2 normal iphones we have seen before and 1 new one..)

Find you a 2012 or a 2015 Refurb. The keyboards are better.

one sec while I mortgage my house, sell my car and my kids. They were cutting into my Mac budget in a bad way.

"Substantially reduce" keyboard problems? Not "eliminate" keyboard problems?

Nobody will ever say eliminate in that context. All keyboards fail. This butterfly one for Apple has just done so at a seemingly very high rate. All they can say is reduce. By how much remains to be seen.

So the 13" is the exact same computer with a 100mhz speed boost on the same processor, only the 15" gets the 9th gen. Ugghhh, for work reasons I can't wait any longer. Hopefully, the 512gb model from yesterday goes on sale again tomorrow for the April price of 1500.

Maybe they are underselling and overdelivering???

That is the hope. I've LOOKED at new MBPs for a while, but the keyboard is the biggest pain point and I see no reason to drop $2500+ on a keyboard that has a better failure rate than all other manufacturers combined. Ok, I'm exaggerating.... a little. You get the idea.

Are you running an Adobe suite??. Steve Jobs professed that he "hated" Flash...stuff makes your CPU run SO hot. I almost had to get rid of an iMac because of this!

I wonder when the 12” MacBook will get upgraded. It should at least get the new keyboard. Will Apple wait until it switches to ARM, or will they put another Intel chip one more time?

Agree, please release more in the coming days

With Navi gpus out soon, I wouldn’t trust Apple not to do what they did last year and release a better gpu option in a couple of months. That coupled with the no-redesign makes this so disappointing. No miniLED tech in there for HDR at least? Even laptop PCs have gone OLED this year! 8 cores in this design will be pointless too. Man oh man this hurts.

I really hope they fixed the keyboard problems. Until they do I am not buying a MBP. Honestly we should go back to the Unibody thickness, that would allow for a powerhouse with no throttling. Apple and its obsession with thin wins out though.

It's the Apple management team. Need a new CEO. <--- Puts his hand in the air. Round Rock, TX??

I've had a 2009, 2012, and 2014 MBP, I do want to move on eventually and as a video editor updated specs are somewhat important. If I was just banging away on Facebook with my MBP it'd be a no brainer tho lol
