With Navi gpus out soon, I wouldn’t trust Apple not to do what they did last year and release a better gpu option in a couple of months. That coupled with the no-redesign makes this so disappointing. No miniLED tech in there for HDR at least? Even laptop PCs have gone OLED this year! 8 cores in this design will be pointless too. Man oh man this hurts.
Yeah its another pointless update, the cpus now are fast enough, they need to innovate more

Such a premium for a computer without an SD slot! There were no updates for months and then the Pro gets 3 updates in less than a year. I'd love one but I think I will wait for a model without a Touch Bar.

...you'll be waiting for a very long time. I expect a redesign in next year or so, but I'd bet my right nut the touchbar aint going away.

Unless they have to buy now, people should probably wait to see what problems the early purchasers find.

Oh I'll definitely wait. Apple used to be my go to brand I didn't have to do that with but now I'm hesitant. They've burned me enough times, much like 343/Halo I wait to see what the release looks like first now:p May even wait for the refurb model of it, seems like those are on the store much faster these days.

It take real courage to double down on a garbage keyboard design for the 4th consecutive year rather than redesigning it.

Honestly the idea and keyboard isn't bad if it just worked. The problem I see more now is just the stigma attached to it, you ain't redesigning that.

Damn. I really need a new mbp, but was really hoping for a redesign to signify a real fix for the keyboard issue. I’m gonna hold out until wwdc, but I’m already feeling bad about the cash I’m gonna have to drop on this.

A bit disappointed to see this less than a week after I took the plunge on a 15" MacBook Pro, haha. I'm still in my return window, but I think I'll just keep what I have. The processor is already fine for what I need, and I'm mostly just happy knowing that if my keyboard goes out, I'll get the newer one that's likely free from failure.

Overall, I've been very impressed with the upgrade from my 2015 13". I'm primarily using mine as the brains of my home recording studio, so it stays stationary and is used with a Magic Mouse and Keyboard 75% of the time.

Exactly. I would bet that not one person that is babbling about keyboard problems has ever had a keyboard problem.

Check out this thread in the MBP section. It's 80 pages of keyboard complaints with lots of people personally describing how their keyboard failed.

Unless you really believe that the people are lying ?

Does this mean no 16 inch model anytime soon?
Translation - yesterday they came running to Tim's office and said "there's no way the 16-inch will be ready in time for this year." Of course, you never know - this might just be a speed bump with a real upgrade in October.

Really great that Macbook Pros are getting more and more powerful and all, but dammit I want a 15" Macbook Air. That 15" screen, but with the CPU/memory/drive options of the Air. Come on! Pleeeeeeaaaaaase.

A lot of haters on this thread!

This thing looks unreal - 40% faster than the 6 core? That's nuts. Yes, we all hope they don't throttle them. But man, that's a lot of power that I'm hoping to leverage in the near future!
