I doubt that, most likely it is a production issue at this point. They probably just want to avoid another Apple Pencil "launch" where 500 people get units day one and their production is so far behind they are constantly on a "ships in 2 months" schedule.
Doubtful. The amount of customers they are losing to "Oh man, I have to wait too long, i'm buying a different pair of truly wireless bluetooth headphones that pair with my phone and products better than any other" is minuscule compared to the cost of manufacturing millions of airpods and storing them for a month while they wait to build up inventory to orders that haven't happened yet.

I personally haven't tried any Sennheisers before, I primarily use B&O, and although I cannot make a comparison at all with those, I can certainly say, They are far better sounding than any wireless earbuds ranging from $150-$250 I've used over the last year. They feel incredible, I've never had an issue with them falling out of my ears, or at least sliding out. My favorite part is turning them on, Apple did a beautiful job of creating a new start-up tune, sounds like a sweet beautiful sympathy orchestra warming up for a second.
So these sound better than the EarPods?

I'm surprised if they do. I thought wired earphones would never sound better than truly wireless earphones.

"The early response to AirPods has been incredible"

Yeah, incredibly bad. These things look awful. Who wants little white sticks popping out of your ears? So odd...

Good. We are all glad your not buying a pair, which keeps available stock for others who want them. But please, continue to rant, You were really on to something there.

Is this for real? I don't quite believe it bc they have yet to updated the site from late October. If this is true Apple is falling apart like others say. If they truely said this and didn't update the site first someone should be fired bc this isn't the detailed oriented apple that I remember.

I want volume and skip control without using Siri. Hoping they are doing this somehow. A good idea would be to touch and raise/nod head up and down for volume using some sort of accelerometer.

Well, maybe instead of focusing on things like the iMacs and MacBook Pros they could get to finishing the Air Pods?

I'm disappointed for sure, was gonna order a pair on launch day.

However, this like all the other incidents we all get our panties in a wad about, saying how terrible this or that is, will be long forgotten once they're shipped in a matter of weeks/months.

It's the worst thing ever, until they ship, at which point no one will care anymore.

In contrast, my Jaybird X2s both hurt and fall out more easily.

Have you tried the Comply foam tips? Not the ones that come in the box but the more dense foam.

Mine never fall out (you should get the small, medium and large pack to confirm what works best for you) and I couldn't be happier with their overall performance. A huge improvement over the BlueBuds X

Apple are slipping though. They have terrible supply problems with the first gen watch 18 months ago. The issue is even worse this year as people are still experiencing a 3 to 4 weeks wait even though demand apparently is a fraction of what it was for the first gen. Problems with meeting demand for iPhone 7 and a now delay on a brand new product.

GREAT. So what are the chances that when they finally release them they will be "ready." I'm guess they're going to rush to get these out the door ASAP, and something had to be really wrong with them to push the date, and there's no way they're missing the Christmas shopping season, so these will be released, ready or not, by end of November.

People are going waaaaaaay overboard with this. They've been DELAYED, not CANCELLED.

If they released them and there were bugs, you'd all be grumpy. Seriously, what's a month or two in your life's?

"AirPods are Apple's premium headphone solution for the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus"

Maybe premium in price and in wireless connectivity, but certainly not premium in sound quality.

Care to post pics of yourself thoroughly testing them?

I dont like them, i wont buy them, but at least im not discussing a product ive not even seen in real life, let alone testing it.

It takes courage to delay a product launch.

Perhaps it takes even more courage not to mention Mac Pro, mini or iMac at a Mac event. We shall soon find out!

From Bloomberg:

"The AirPods delay is the first hardware-related postponement in more than five years from the Cupertino, California-based company."

What are all these delays people are talking about then?

Not grumpy I wasn't even ordering them. Just thing about this! You brought a phone out with no headphone wire. The headphone you produced come out later. Then the day you tell the world they aren't coming out that day you forget to update it on your site. This isn't a mom and pop organization. This is the biggest company in the world. Come on man get real.

Don't think there is anything to read into here. There are bugs and Apple wants to get rid of them. John Gruber's testing them and he says it has some "glitches."

There shouldn't have been bugs considering what's at stake here ... imagine if the Note 7 hadn't started exploding and over a month after buying an iPhone 7, a customer still can't get the thing that makes losing the headphone jack reasonable?

If you use them for 5 hours straight, you'll have an issue.

But they charge while they're in the case.

15 minutes will get you an additional 3 hours. Everybody can unplug for 15 minutes. And to the extent a person can't go 15 minutes without listening to their headphones, they can sacrifice stereo audio for 30 minutes, as they charge the AirPods one by one for 15 minutes.

I had the original Appel Bluetooth headset for the original, 1st gen iPhone. It had such bad audio quality and battery life it was not funny. Rarely used it, became a deco piece below my Apple Cinema Display fairly quickly, ... :-/
