I think we are taking comments from a third rate website saying they have the inside track.....a wee bit too seriously. Apple's site still shows late Oct. Apple would have either done that change on the site already or a day ago...

Mean while in Apple offices
"Damn it, did you see that Microsoft event! update the Macs NOW!!! screw the Ear pods".

I tease, it will be interesting to see what the adoption rate of these will be; whether they will gain better traction than the initial Apple watch launch. I found it odd they did not release these under beats (I thought that was going to be their default for headphone items).

Microsoft dropped quite a bomb in their lap with this release 24 hours before theirs. Whatever Apple talks about will look like a response to ...all that. VR headsets and giant touchscreen workstations, vs... a little touch sensitive control strip and some wireless headphones.... man they better have some big news, or this little stuff is going to look like they've been twiddling their thumbs this whole time.

Looks like they may have to fix a couple of the bugs left remaining. Mine sound great though!

Microsoft didn't drop anything, their stuff still runs on the same crappy operating system. Hardware doesn't mean crap, if software is garbage.

AirPods is a much more sophisticated and innovative product than Surface Studio, so it takes time to get it ready.

Thanks Apple, I was planning on getting my partner these for a birthday gift with your late October release. Now I have to think of a replacement gift in 4 days. You have just broken my life.

The article should say "Airpod's no longer happening". After less than optimistic reactions apple "pulls the plug" on it's earbud concept. Apple dose not plan to continue work on wireless audio.

What? They've been delayed and not cancelled.

I must have wrong ears, because apples headphones have never stayed in and have always been painful.

I agree with you, I am interested in trying these out, but normal apple headphones have always fallen out, anything longer than 20, 30 min.. have caused pain.

This is the quote from the article, "The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers," an Apple spokesperson said to TechCrunch.

Yet they "release" the second Apple Watch, and just like the first iteration, there are none to actually purchase. Now they don't have these ready when they said they would. My prediction is that when they do "release" these, later than they said they would, you won't be able to actually buy any because they wont have any stock available.

I gave up on buying an Apple Watch the first time because by the time I was able to actually buy them the urge had worn off and I was pissed at the way they handled the "release"

Same thing happened this time with Apple Watch 2. I've given up on purchasing one. Seeing this news about the air pods, I am officially over them. I'll keep using my wired headphones that came with my 7 Plus.

This Apple fanboy is starting to lose my enamor with Apple.

That's too bad. I was expecting they'd go on sale tomorrow after the keynote.

But it was an Apple spokes person that said this and not TechCrunch... Thet just haven't updated their site yet.

Microsoft didn't "drop" anything. I think you're forgetting it still runs Windows...

Microsoft's announcement shouldn't have been a big surprise in Cupertino. A touch-enabled Surface AIO has long been rumored. VR is still a bit gimmicky and has yet to take off.
