dont ppl in kentucky have better stuff to spend their money on rather than an iphone.....like chewing tobacco, shotgun shells, or sleeveless lynyrd skynyrd shirts?

Louisville is home to UPS' WorldPort, pretty much the most awesome distribution center ever. National Geographic channel did a one-hour show on how the facility handles each type of package - pretty incredible.

Still no tracking number here :(

Good luck to all who are hoping to get their iPhones soon...

That said, and I ususally don't even fall into the click-every-20-minute trap, mine is still showing "Prepared for Shipment" even though I pre-ordered through the Apple Store site at 3:06 p.m. (PST) on the day of launch. They're obviously not processing these orders First-In, First-Out...

Oh well, I guess it is just Wednesday, after all, and unlike some others, I haven't gotten my hopes up that it would be here before Friday. I guess the "First-come, First-serve" only holds for those who camp out at the stores :D

Yeah Worldport Hub 2000 is freakin' massive. The company I work for built two of the expansions on that bad boy. The aerial shots are impressive.

Hey look, you have plenty of people in Jersey are buying iPhones instead of medical waste resistant bathing suits and asthma inhalers so maybe you should go back to trimming your pits rather than diss other states. (BTW I'm not from KY, just find it bizarro that someone from Joisy would be going after any other state).

Seriously.

Still nothing on my end. I just see, "Prepared for Shipment." If I don't see a tracking number by the end of the day (and it's shipping from China), I'll start to get a little nervous. I ordered on 8 June at 3:25pm Eastern.

you probably are a little nervous already, or else you (and me) wouldn't be looking at the site constantly! There can still be and probably will be overnight shipping. And things like Amazon Prime ship two day or overnight all the time and it always works.

I'm in the nervous camp as well. My only concern is that when things come in from China sometimes they get put on a mandatory customs hold for a day or two (overnight shipping or not). I had a Lenovo machine back in 2006 that was held for 5 days. If that is the case, since Apple cut this one so close we may not see ours until next week. And we were some of the first to order

Don't worry. iPhone is having fun in Kentucky
First, after resting up at the Brown Hotel, iPhone is off to class at Yoga East.

Next, it has a private basketball camp with Cardinals coach Rick Pitino. You want iPhone to be able to shoot the 3 and have sharp ball rotation skills, don't you?

After lunch at Lillys, iPhone is off to the Bluegrass horse country, where it will tour Three Chimneys farm and visit elite thoroughbred champions.

After all that excitement, iPhone is going to need some down time before crawling into that UPS truck, so how about a quiet patio by the Kentucky River, sipping 18-year-old bourbon.

Really just a day in paradise.
Jealous? You should be.
As for iPhone itself ... it deserves it.

UPS Confirmed the Package is Scheduled to be Delivered Thursday by 10:30am

I just got off the phone with UPS. Apparently there's a single shipping container containing 10,000 items (phones) that's being split up in KY. She said that my package is still on schedule for delivery tomorrow (Thursday, 6/18) by 10:30am.

I think that was the thinking before. All just one big shipment

happens

This often happens I am surprised no one propossed that apple was going to put a stop order in.

Buut, IMHO, not ALL can get stopped. Some will get through, it will simply happen. We'll see people with phones tonite or tomorrow AM. I'll bet on it

One big shipment that apparently does not seem to contain phones from people who ordered in the first few days from Apple.com

does it really matter when your phone was shipped? Yesterday, today, tomorrow, it will all get to the recipient the same day.

Hopefully. Again, if they ship from China a customs hold could cause a delay into Monday. That's our worry as the "not yet shipped" group.

Remember when you pre-ordered the Harry Potter books from Amazon? (Err, maybe I'm talking to the wrong crowd here.) They had written all over them "Do not deliver before X". Amazon had major deals with UPS/FedEx/USPS to deliver these all on the same day (Saturday, no less!) There were severe penalties for anyone who delivered early. These delivery companies do this OFTEN and there's no reason that they won't *all* be held for delivery until the 19th. They're pros, they know what they're doing.

Now, that doesn't mean I'm not hoping that I'm the first stop on the route on Friday morning :)

no prob for my att order

Just call up UPS and tell them that you didn't request the package to be held. It's happened to me before, and UPS blamed it on the fact that they thought it was a holiday. I mean Apple could be holding it, but if you get a good rep, they'll mark it to be delivered the next day.

Not if they want Apples business in the future. The iPhone is not being RELEASED until Friday. Apple would not be happy if UPS or Fedex broke the rules and decided on their own when Apples product gets released. While I can't prove it, I would bet it's in the agreement they have for the shipment that it will not be delivered before Friday.

AT&T Preorder Update

My FedEx tracking number just updated. Apparently the AT&T pre-ordered iPhones are already state-side because mine just shipped from Ft. Worth, TX. It's on FedEx Standard Overnight, so it will be in stores tomorrow for pick-up on Friday.

You really think that hasn't been taken into account by Apple? Again, it said when you ordered: "Delivers June 19". There is no reason to believe it wouldn't be delivered by June 19.

Lucky you. Mine is still "In Progress."

I'm getting antsy, even though I'm still pretty confident I'll get mine on Friday.

I ordered mine through apple.com on June 8th at 12:48PDT and it's still in the "Prepared for shipment" status on the apple.com order status page. It also says it'll ship on June 19th and be delivered on June 22nd.

I opted for the free shipping because the front page of the iPhone apple store said it would be delivered on June 19th.

I'd love to get it for this weekend, but if I have to wait until Monday it's no big deal...
