Hopefully. Again, if they ship from China a customs hold could cause a delay into Monday. That's our worry as the "not yet shipped" group.

I would be willing to bet that this group will be shipped from the US. ATT already has packages showing up shipping from Texas for Friday delivery. I bet Apple will be shipping from their US network as well.

You really think that hasn't been taken into account by Apple? Again, it said when you ordered: "Delivers June 19". There is no reason to believe it wouldn't be delivered by June 19.

I hope you are right :) I will keep telling myself that to ease the nerves.

Now, if tomorrow evening comes and it still has not shipped then I'm definitely going to panic. Ever since my customs hold on a Lenovo laptop years back I have been squeamish of shipments coming in from China.

Correct. And the ones from China have already been shipped because of the delay. The US ones have no reason to ship early.

ditto!

Oh no wait, my error email was different:

"While Apple strives to ship every product without error, our records
indicate your iPhone 3G shipped with a defective SIM Card. If the SIM
Card is defective, you will not be able to activate your iPhone 3G.

.

Why are they saying "iPhone 3G" and not "iPhone 3Gs"? That is so unlike Apple...?

I don't think that's the problem. It's definitely Apple timing the delivery with the scheduled launch date. Although I'm be disappointed too not to be one of the happy few (?) to put their hands on a 3GS before the masses...

Btw, how can the guy in Brazil have it?

3G vs. 3G S Flub

Yeah, I called and asked just to make sure, even though you can't order a 32GB 3G anyway, and the guy told me it was definitely a 3G S, and it was definitely going to be delivered on the 19th.

Store opens at 9 am on the East coast if I am not mistaken (could be 8 or 10, not sure), so that would be 2 pm in the UK and 3 pm in the rest of central Europe.;)

Well the Apple store page for the UK says:

"Available June 19th, 8:00 am
Book an iPhone Personal Shopping appointment for June 19th and come right to the front of the line when you arrive at the Apple Retail Store*"

That's correct in terms of what time is what where, but we are definitely getting ours before you guys in the US because of that time difference. Standalone Apple stores opening at 8am UK time, confirmed by Apple (in-mall stores vary, mine is 10am UK time). Standalone 02 stores opening at 9.02am UK time, confirmed by 02 store! :)

I have a personal shopping appointment at my local Apple store specifically to buy the 3GS at 11am, which I'm told by the store manager means I can skip any queue there might be, but tempted to get there when it opens at 10am, just in case they've sold out of my model by 11!!

i finally got my order status changed to "Prepared For Shipment" so hoepfully i still get mine by friday. theres no reason i shouldnt i ordered mine on the 9th.

Totally fair. You should not be able to get it 2 days before everyone else. It's SMART of Apple to ship them early so there's no issues the day of the launch. Be happy they have it ready to roll.....sheesh, people rated this "negative". It's called smart planning....unlike last year's horrific launch.

Are you 6? Unfair? Everyone else?

Life's not fair. I didn't order one, but I still think it's messed up.

Damn, my local apple store (and one O2 shop) is in a mall which opens at 9am, unless they open early  While another O2 shop is just outside.. may just get there for 8am and sit around if nothing is open yet

Edit:
Scrap that..

"New Apple iPhone launch

Visit the Apple store in WestQuay on 18th June to buy the new iPhone. The store will be open at 8am on the 18th." what!? They must have the wrong day/date, but this means it will very likely open at 8am on friday :D

They're supposed to get to the East coast from Asia in 2 days, and they still haven't shipped apparently.

So?

I've had stuff overnighted to me from Apple from Shanghai. Shanghai -> Anchorage -> Kentucky -> Minneapolis in under 24 hours.

Don't underestimate UPS!

Aye aye cap

I've booked my personal appointment for 8am... canny wait

I still have "Prepared for Shipment". It's been like that for a few days. Will I still get mine on time...?

Ordered on the 8th an hour after the keynote.

Anyone else seeing this

It appears I'm getting multiple holds. My iPhone 3GS just wants to come home UPS, let it come home...
