Apple Delays Shipments of New Orders for Existing MacBook Pros Until Week's End

so if they update the apple website thursday do you think they will have their little post it note come up days in advance? or just the day of

On 2/24, the XOOM comes out also. Nothing like raining new MacBooks on their parade.

Wow, you're right! I can almost guarantee that this ABSOLUTELY has something to do with why the Thursday launch date!!!

Poor Motorola and their catch-up tablet :D

Confirming that the US store is still showing shipment within 24 hours for the MacBook, so it apparently won't be updated on Thursday. As a previous post said, it might get updated in a month or so.

As someone who just got a 13" MBP 2 weeks ago, I hope I won't be too envious when the new models come out. I'm still happy with the performance bump over my late 2007 MacBook.

nope the US store says 3-5 days

If it has a blue ray burner I will get a new one. Otherwise I will wait.
I get the feeling you'll be waiting for a while.

When the post-it note is there, the store comes to a screeching stop. They won't stop their sales for days. Apple's stuff come when they come, not earlier. Just wait.

The US store and my Company (AT&T) partner site where we get our discount on Apple both show 3-5 days shipping.

Might Happen

  • Ethernet port gets moved to the power brick, so the MagSafe connector provides both power and the final link in the ethernet connection
Unlikely - would mean you could not connect to a physical ethernet when running on battery without having your PSU with you. On the other hand we are talking about Apple here... hmmm...

you just got a new mbp 2 weeks ago?

hahahahahahaha

lol seriously though, why the hell did you do that?

and the results are

Ok according to my investigation what's new?
only the sandy bridge and a new color:(

all the other speculations aren't mentioned anywhere.
worldwide apple changed the color of the tabs on apple.com/..

still i will wait to replace my broken mbp.:(

If that is your condition you may never own a (another) Mac laptop. Probably see Flash on iOS before internal BD-R hits a Mac laptop. There are ext. solutions if you really need it, but it's not Apple's focus right now and most people share video online these days or streaming direct to TV. Hard media is on the way out.

Article is regarding MBPs -- which Apple Store does state 3-5 days. MB updates are still 24hrs as you state but no one is suggesting MB updates are on the way. MB and MBP are rarely updated simultaneously.

Finally... I'll only upgrade if they put more than just new processors in it. What's the point in upgrading if it's just a slight performance boost?

There wont be a re-design imo :(

They will look the same as the current ones just with better spec.

Unless there is an announcement/conference to show of these new designs there wont be a re-design.

When was the last time that Apple released a new project and new design without presentation conference?

Why does everyone think there needs to be a press conference to follow the design cues of the newly redesigned MacBook Air?

I'm expecting a new design. I remember that the current Macbook Pros have been around for like a year and a half, right? I think it's time for a new model. I know I sound spoiled when I say this, but compared to all of their other products, the current Macbook Pro feels kind of thick and "clunky" for an Apple product!

Thick and clunky? Exqueeze me! My MacBook Pro is one of the sleekest sexiest pieces of tech it has been my pleasure to own.

We don't know, we are just lemmings pushing the Refresh key every 35 seconds just to keep our addiction fueled.
