No home button on iPhone -- not a big deal. Small phone; easy to swipe up.

But I think we can all agree that swiping up will be a little more difficult with an iPad. I hope that you don't have to swipe up a farther distance due to the bigger screen. I should still be able to do with with my thumb alone, without having to move my entire arm.

What are you talking about? I swipe up on iPad every time I wanna see my dock. Which is quite often

Dear Apple,

How about adding a long requested feature that might cost you sales, but which families would love:

The ability to recognize multiple family members and automatically adjust the UI, level of security, and age specific content levels.

Thanks,
a Dad

I think Apple would rather you buy a device for everyone in the family.

Yep, Jobs warned us in the video below, about the consequences for a company when the marketing people take over.
Now we have the notch

This is the new “I disagree with Apple, here’s a video of Steve Jobs saying stuff that makes my opinion seem validated”

Apple is almost a trillion dollar company that makes the best products on the market. They aren’t what he hated in companies. Really

I like how people are whining about Apple raising the price on the next iPad, when they actually gave us a cheaper option last time around when they split the lineup into the standard 9.7" and the 10.5" Pro.

Remember, nobody makes anyone buy this stuff, and Apple leads the industry in supporting the old models with OS updates.

Damn, those renders are gorgeous! Can’t decide if I hope they do it just like that, or make the frame more like the iPhone X’s.

Quoted for truth... This is a render so I doubt this would ship like this. Like you said it would be near impossible to hold.

I don’t think so. If they just made the top and bottom bezels the same thickness as the side ones are now, I think it’ll be fine. I can hold my Air 2 no problem by the side bezels, but any thinner would be a problem.

Where’s the notch? This will have one as well to hold the FaceID technology.

I don't take too much care with the TouchID or FaceID on iPad.
So Apple, when can you give us 3D Touch on iPad?

Why would anyone buy an iPad anymore - so lame
I love my iPad Pro. It's the only reason I ended up with an iPhone X tbqh. I'm an iPad fanboy more than I am an Apple fanboy.

FaceID needs a wider angle recognition process... not sure if this is possible, but I feel like I have to be looking at my phone within a certain range for it to recognize my face. I'm not an angle expert, but I don't want to have to sit up strait at my desk just so my phone can unlock
It will learn your face over time. Just make sure when it fails you type in the password.

Thinner bezels: a very bad idea. I need space for my fingers.
Apple has detection for that. I have the 10.5" iPad Pro and it has thin bezels on two sides. I can hold it just fine on those sides with the thinner bezel. I prefer the thinner bezel honestly.

Never would hve guessed. Couldn’t imagine what it would look like without the pic.

I thought Apple would completely remove the bezels like the iPhone X ! And do adopt OLED Display. If the supplies for OLED panel is available for the iPhone X why can't it be available for the 2018 iPad Pro ? And why can't Apple completely remove the bezels of the iPad Pro like the iPhone X ?

I think FaceID makes more sense for laptops and iPads. In fact, Face ID would be preferred for a laptop or an iPad. I actually hated the TouchID on the Mac as I have to unnaturally raise my hand to the top of the keyboard to use it.

Face ID on the iPhone... I guess it's better than not being able to access that fingerprint reader at all when the phone is on a desk or mounted in a car. But it's definitely not better than Touch ID on the front. This is after about 5 days of using the iPhone X daily. I can live with Face ID. But a Touch ID embedded in the screen would be hard to argue against, if such tech is possible.

NO!!!

I just bought a 10.5" iPad Pro, and I love Face ID. I've been thinking lately how much I wished my iPad had Face ID and no home button. Pressing that home button is so out dated. :)

You’ve got to be kidding me... ready to already throw a grand down for face ID on an iPad huh? And to open web pages .3 seconds faster...

Remember, nobody makes anyone buy this stuff, and Apple leads the industry in supporting the old models with OS updates.

You must never have had an older iPad that suffered from an OS update.

Moreover, much of the time older devices don't get the best new features, even with the same version number. Just more code and less space.

That said, you'd still have to pry my iPad minis away from my cold dead hands.

No notch! tick
Slimmer bezels! tick
LCD screen! (No OLED burn in risk) tick
The render looks awesome! The iPad being bigger allows for a bezel big enough to contain all the cameras, therefore no need for a notch.

Headphone jack?
Wireless charging?
iPad Mini Pro????

Really looking forward to seeing this become a reality. :)

Take an iPad mini, increase the size just a bit, reduce the bezels, add Face ID, and one has a display close to 9.7 inches. Price it at $499 for 64 GB. The replacement for both the iPad and the iPad mini. Take the 10.5 inch iPad Pro, make it a little wider, reduce the bezels, increase the display to 11.5 inches. Take the 12.9 inch... Lower the price of the current iPad to $299 for a year.
