I'm all for this, but it poses an interesting question of how you go home with no home button. Can't use the swipe up gesture like the X since that invokes dock/app switcher, and the 4 finger pinch seems too undiscoverable for such an important function.

Swipe up from left half for home. Swipe up from right half for dock. Or vice versa. Just a guess.

I may be in the minority on this..but I like bezels on my ipad while I read. Camera improvement and reduced weight weigh heavier for me than face ID

Just bought the 12.9” iPad Pro 2 in June. A bezel-less IPP with Face ID sounds tempting, but might as well wait for OLED (hopefully in 2019) and get the full-Monty before upgrading again.

Hooray! My original 12.9 iPad Pro will be about three years old and even though it still works perfectly I would love to have a new model. I'm looking forward to a same-size screen with smaller dimensions/lighter weight, Face ID and Pencil enhancements.

I agree...Not sure why people on here are now 'liking' the Notch. I swear if any other company had a the Notch, they'd say it's the ugliest thing ever.

There are a lot of things combined to make a hardware look ugly. I wouldn't say I love the notch, but definitely does not bother me. It gives a bit of character to the device. When I view a video I would rather not have it but still not a deal breaker for me.

for sure, if it is gonna cost a grand for base entry model and only 64gb of storage, count me out. Ill wait for the next go around and hopefully by that time it will have an oled screen. How pissed do people get (if this is true) for the past 3 years a different more better iPad has been released? You upgraded to a 9.7 pro only for the 10.7 to come out a year later, then a face ID pro comes out the following year. I have a feeling after next year we won't see an apple iPad Pro refresh for a while.

Unfortunately I think it's going to become more prevalent in future products.
Apple believes the notch not only house sensors, but serves as an identifier that it's an Apple product.

Problem for who? Sure thing, not for me. I don't unlock iPhone's on landscape, X doesn't even have landscape mode, not even sure why anyone would want to unlock it when it is on landscape or upside down. But each to their own I guess.
