I just want everyone to hear me when I say this. This is news.

It's not because it never was. It's just as silly as calling the Sunglass Hut the Sunglass.
next will be just the logo, like Target
Angela's contribution to the pipeline of innovation.
She should start giving interviews to explain how amazing it is.
Why not The Apple Grove, Valley Apple Fair, Union Square Apple, Friendly Apple Center, The Apple Falls?![]()
It doesn't really matter if there is a sign or not; everyone knows it as the Apple Store. No one is going to say, "Hey, I'm going to Apple The Grove, see you later!". Just like no one says I'm going to Have a Coca without saying the Cola part, yes, we all know it is a cola but it just sounds ridiculous not saying the cola part.Outside each Sunglass Hut location is prominently displayed the name: "Sunglass Hut". Does it actually say "Apple Store" at the entrance of each Apple Store? Typically, it's just a big, isn't it?
I realize that it is different people in charge of this than the people who are responsible for actually updating products, but Apple should be pushing out new products instead of giving the appearance that they have nothing productive left to do.I suppose if they have nothing else to promote, i.e., no new product, they might as well rearrange the deck chairs.
What, the snarky comments on MacRumors? Can't innovate anymore my ass! This is revolutionary!
Seems a little silly to me, as I prefer to refer to a physical location as a "store," but whatever floats their boat I suppose; it's no matter to me really.
Makes a ton of sense.
1) no confusion with the App Store
2) it's no longer only a store; definitions are important
3) "Apple, the experience", vs. "Apple's commercial front-end"
4) it's shorter > more elegant
Well it's not like Angela Ahrentds sent out a press release about this. It's just not a lot of Apple news right now and rumor sites still need clicks every day.Wow, they're taking the thinness to the next level, by making the name thinner
I suppose if they have nothing else to promote, i.e., no new product, they might as well rearrange the deck chairs.
Ha! I was just going to post the same thing
The experience comes when u do want to buy something, then u have to chase them all over or get dumped in a random corner when picking up a repair, hopefully the experience will be less random!I actually like this change. It shows the retail locations are not focused on getting people to buy more things, but to experience them. One of my favorite things about visiting Apple is walking in and not being hounded by sales people trying to get their commission. I can just wander around and experience the products how I want to and make the decision I think is best for myself.
It was never called the Target Store or the Walmart Store so it seems awkward to call them that now. To say I have to go to Apple means, to me, you're going to Cupertino. Apple has always meant the corporation while Apple Store has always meant the physical stores run by Apple. Just like if you need to go to Target corporation you would say I'm going to Target headquarters not just Target as that is assumed to mean the stores.Kinda thought it was silly, but now makes sense.
"I have to go to Target" (not "I have to go to the Target or the Target Store")
"I have to go to Walmart" (not "I have to go to the Walmart or the Walmart Store")
"I have to go to Apple" (not "I have to go to the Apple or the Apple Store")
