No clue ... this problem has pivoted and become ever worse in that folks are now (rudely, I would argue) leaving the buds in all the time at places like a checkout counter.

Folks have no way to know if you're tuned in or out .... maybe you're in transparency mode?

I find it rude. It take my AirPods out when I'm speaking to a real person in front of me.

Pity that there’s no middle finger emoji for my reply to this bs. I don’t want to take my AirPods out of my ears and put my hearing aids in at a checkout counter when the AirPods are certified as hearing devices. I personally think that it’s your attitude that’s rude towards people with impaired hearing.

It is genuinely infuriating how consumers refuse to support Apple's vision.

Sorry Tim~ we will try to do better!

Lololol I love this comment. Is it Apple’s failure that AVP is a trash product or is it the consumer’s failure that AVP is a trash product?
You should just stop posting anything about a new AppleTV until it's officially announced. It's insane how continuously wrong you are with that device.
By you, you mean Mark Gurman.

A. I meant no offense towards you, especially given your hearing impairment, my sincere apologies.

B. You've highlighted a real issue with AirPods now doubling as hearing aids for some people. There's no way at all for others to know they are being used to deal with an impairment.

C. Let's be happy there is no "middle finger emoji" 😅 (boy it would get overused around here) and try to show some grace in both directions.

I apologize to you for the misunderstanding. 🙏

Does the AVP really need a second version?
For all the complains i read about it, none of it was because it was too slow.

If the issue is ergonomics, why can't they just give everyone who bought the V1 a free headstrap that they can redeem at their local store. Lolz did i say give? i meant sell for $199.

"Computer strapped to your face" is never going to be mainstream in the way things like desktop computers/iPods and iPhones were/are.
Amongst early adopters that buy the latest Apple products, there are a substantial number whose narcissistic tendencies are satiated by showing off their new iPhone, iPad, MacBook in public.

AVP is relegated to indoor use in one's residence. This prevents buyers from engaging in one of their favorite activities.

Thanks for your understanding. I'll also apogolise for being so brusque. I do think that it's important for people to understand that AirPods might be used for hearing assistance, not just to listen to music or block out background noise.

I have to admit that I will be a little disappointed in Apple if they don’t hold an event for these products. Even though they are only spec bumps, the excitement at our house around Apple events with something my husband and I both share. Even when as is the case this time, none of the rumored products are anything I need to buy we just liked watching them. I know they’ve had announcements before, but we used to get the excitement of an event. Even the post Covid recorded events have been something we enjoyed watching. Is Apple trying to save a dime or two by not having events and only doing press announcements? Or are they passing on events because critics will discuss the fact that they don’t mention Apple Intelligence or Siri? Regardless, this will be disappointing if we just hear through the media. I would think that they would want to put themselves out there as much as they could seeing as how they are so rumored to be falling behind.

Agree… yet there are 3 reasons I have not bought one:
1) Over engineered - The front-display screen is too heavy and is not needed.
2) No "Pro" content creation tools from Apple to make AR and VR content
3) Price. If it were around $2k or $2.5 I might consider it.

Because it's way too expensive, I'm in Shanghai China (consider it the most advanced city in China) and the price is 29999 RMB, and median salary of Shanghai is just over 5000 CNY, and the minimum wage is less than 2800 CNY. You have to give up anything to eat and drink for half year to afford it, which is ridiculous.o_O

Oh yeah, it’s infuriating how these ungrateful peasants sorry…consumers just don’t understand Apple’s genius. Like, imagine thinking $3,499 isn’t a reasonable price for the privilege of pretending to type in midair. People out here complaining they can’t afford groceries, when really, they should be selling their cars, kidneys, and maybe one child to fund the future of spatial computing.
Tim lives in a world where $3500 justifies a new toy that no one wants.

I feel like Apple missed the boat on AppleTV. Back when TVs were not so "smart", it brought something, but the built-in capabilities of newer TVs makes AppleTV redundant to me (unless you need it for Apple services like Arcade).
I don't think so. So many "smart" tvs that I've used over the years, even new ones, are clunky in their interfaces and slow, and have a lousy remote to top it all off. To me, that's reason enough to want an Apple TV.

One of Apples great achievements is reflected by its success in convincing buyers to pay premium prices that in some cases are quite unreasonable.

A simple example is iPhone 16e. A nice basic phone that isn't special or filled with premium features, but rather it’s just a basic phone. At $599 USD, many consider that $100 overpriced.

The Apple devotees argue that it’s discounted through various third parties and relieve Apple of responsibility.

Then there's the devotees that only compare it to other iPhone models instead of looking at all phones in the marketplace.

Through years of brilliant marketing and masterful use of images and words Apple has convinced buyers their products are worth premium prices.

The Vision Pro has proven that some people do in fact have a price limit they will not forego. That in this instance they're not taking the bait and not willing to subsidize this expensive product.

A lot of people don't want a smart TV, myself included. I prefer a simple TV, and just adding Apple TV on top of that. I have a TV where the Netflix app is atrocious, but the Apple TV Netflix app is great in comparison.

It starts at 4000€ here in France, so yah, it's def not on the priority list for the most.

I think the iPad Pro M5 is a given. Will probably jump on one the first time Costco does a sale on it (so $150 off instead of their usual $50 off) IF it goes to 16GB in the base model.

Really want some new HomePod minis and the HomePod with a screen to replace my Echo's now though!
Base model will have 12GB of RAM.

The BIGGEST takeaway from this announcement is Apple is still doing business in RUSSIA despite all morality not to mention Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions. What would Steve do? There's a man with vision, and it wasn't Pro. He had integrity.

I'll likely never buy a NEW Apple product again. I'm a Mac guy, though. I'll buy second-hand which, I know, is just a Band-aid.
