Those boxes look like Booth boxes. But the black sheets, especially over the banner, are a dead give away.
Here's a picture that you should all ponder. I'm really surprised nobody picked on it yet ->
Is it just me, or are there laptops next to every G5? They all seem aluminum, and really thin, like thinner than the 12"er is now. What do you guys say?

Forgot to say that I'm not sure if this is an Apple booth... those look like audio mixers infront of every machine... but why he hell mix audio with a lowly G4...? Are these the new 15" PBs? They look too small to be the 17" model.

Powerbooks available at the Apple Store in 2-3 weeks.
Sounds like a G4 upgrade, but how I want so bad to believe:
- that before even G5 duals have hit their preorders, Apple has G5 laptops ready to announce.
- that even before all the orders for the lower 2 G5s have reached the hands of their owners, we're looking at G5 PBs.
- that all this and more... If I read one more post by a guy saying that the G5 is too hot for a PB, I'll puke.
Sadly, I don't remember the last time Apple surprised with a big one and all evidence says it won't happen now.
So who cares what you think. Roll out the G5 powerbooks.

I looked at this pic and noticed that the keyboards look HUGE. Why wouldnt they use there apple keyboards on the powebooks? Oh wait i know why... cause they are so dam expensive... hhehe
It seems highly unlikely that Apple would leave a new, unanounced product where someone could wander in and take a photo of it. Also, who can tell with such a blurry image?
I wonder whos booth is that? Every demo machine has a Midi Controller next to it. They look kinda like the new Korg Microcontroller. They are too blurry to tell though. Could be NI or someone.
As far as audio mixing on a "lowly G4" The Protools 6 Demo Digidesign put on was using an old 400(!!) mhz PowerBook with 36 channels of audio, midi and effects playing back at the same time. BT uses a G4 PB to produce most of his tracks as does Hybrid. I think the power of the G4 is underestimated with all of the G5 hype.

I hope its G5 PB's also but I doubt it. They might release 2 G4 PB's then give a release date of the G5 in december or something like that... then of course it wont ship till Feb... hehe

That is an Apple demo set up. They had that at SIGGRAPH for Shake.
Those look like Midi keyboards for a logic demo. they are probably showing how great it works on laptops and desktops.
OMFG, those pad locks on the metal boxes are so lame. You could've break it w/ the heel of a woman's shoe. Or a 1lb hammer. But you do have to take out all the near by guards w/ pepper spread first...

why are people so shocked/excited about the panther stuff in all those photos? in case you have forgotten panther was announced at WWDC and has had a page on apple.com for months, it's hardly a rumor.

I know its far-fetched, I know it probly wont happen, I know I will be dissapointed if it doesnt, but I really want to be suprised with G5 powerbooks.
I am going to have a ****y day tomarow, and nothing would be more awesome than to wake up, open the ibook, goto my homepage, and see "Introducing the Powerbook G5, the worlds fastest laptop".
