Ooh I can't wait! Although I won't be getting the 7, I'm really excited for another Apple event. It's been far too long :D

What? No iPhone 7? I understand. I will be purchasing it and maybe an Apple Watch, if everything meets my expectations. See You on the 7th.

Just to save everybody's time, this will the course of events of the forum

"Boring I will keep my [insert previous iPhone version]"
"Apple is not innovating anymore"
"I am switching to Android because I am bored."
"So expensive. I can buy China phone for 1/3rd of the price."
"Stupid Apple. Website is hanging/crashing."
"My pre-order is in. How about you guys?"
"Mine is shipping! Here's the screenshot."
"Out of stock? Stupid Apple. I'm buying Android."
"Does anybody know if I can just walk in to store [insert Apple store location] and buy one?"
"My iPhone has [insert minor blemish], I am returning it. Apple is going downhill."
"I just bought this new iPhone. What a ripoff. I hate Apple."
*repeat when t = September 2017
OMG this **** is funny !!!

So the iphone 6 and 6 plus will be cheaper?

It will likely be discounted, yes. But it would be worth more your while to invest in the 6s. I would stay away with the iPhone 6/6 Plus with the reported Touch disease, unless it's been remedied.

See you on the 7th.

See you on the iPhone 7.

Some kind of facial/retina recognition or something like that.

Check out that bokeh!

That is pretty poor bokeh, actually. Contrary to common belief bokeh does not refer to the presence of out-of-focus blur but to how pleasantly the blur being rendered.

Bright-ringed blur circles (like in the event logo) are an example of bad bokeh. They're usually a sign of spherical overcorrection of the lens (which is a popular optical design trick to increase the apparent sharpness of a lens).

Apple has announced that they will indeed stream the event ....
Oh they will. Indeed, even. OK everybody, you can breathe again!
That wild uncertainty about Apple broadcasting an event has been resolved!

The tag line seems to ditch the possibility of an "iPhone 6SE" naming... "iPhone 7" is almost a sure bet.
I'm eager to see what 'revolutionary magic' will they demo onstage, specially with the dual camera on the Plus.

I think people read far too much into these invites, i don't think Apple hides any clues in them. They do play about with the wordings tho. I'm looking forward to the event, i enjoyed last years September event, Apple Watch Bands, iPad Pro, Apple TV and iPhone were all announced. I think this year it will be iPhone 7, maybe some wireless earphones/headphones as a premium accessory, Apple Watch 2 may be announced but not released straight away, announcements for IOS release dates and maybe event a few demo's of features they didn't show off at WWDC, especially ones that relate to the new iPhones. Mac's i'm not sure, they could announce but not ship until later in the year but i don't know.

They might come out with the 6SE also for people who want a headphone jack?

I see the upper part of the Apple logo in the invitation to the event.

The fact that it is shaped out of colored points of light could possibly reflect how a screen works.

If you add the intended blur to the message, I think that the picture is indicating exactly the opposite of what you see:
Introducing a higher pixel density (no more blurry images), an improved screen resolution, maybe not on (only?) the iPhone, but (also) for the new MacBook line.

We will see.... ;)

This is a honest question to everybody on this forum and not meant to troll, nor defend Apple:
What would your reaction be if Mr. Cook, or Ive, or the lady that manages all things environmental at Apple explains at this upcoming keynote that the design upgrade cycle will be taking longer because of Apple's new policies regarding recycling and not taking away more natural resources than what they are already taking? That they rather upgrade internals and prefer to use re-processed packagings, device casings, already tried/proven and working production lines, so they can keep up responsible production of iDevices? Same design for maybe... 5 or 6 years? Upgraded and up-to-date internals every year. What's your stance on that? Would you think it's greedy on their part, or a responsible commitment? Would you rather see them as a separate "Recycled Line" of products (not remanufactured, but a line completely focused on environmental issues and recycling.)
Is it worth it? Credible, even? Do you think Apple might/should be heading that way?

Only if Apple's green policies would (then) alleviate its use of tin, rare earth's, and scarce metals. Furthermore, non-technical innovation should inspire new (external) designs.
We are seeing the same design for 3+ years which is unacceptable in the world's most competitive electronics industry. Whether a company sees itself as green, red or brown.

Tim sold stock a few days ago and then this invitation came out...
If this does not smell fishy, I don't know what does...
What's fishy about it, nobody who has followed Apple over the last few years will be surprised that the invites were sent out at the end of August for an event to be held in early September. Everyone has been expecting it to be held on that date so it's unreasonable to think he's got the jump on investors due to any insider information.

Apple Invites Media to September 9 Event: 'Hey Siri, Give Us a Hint'
Apple Issues Media Invitations for September 9 Event: 'Wish We Could Say More'

"See you on the 7th"

it's code for the iPhone will accept commands with your hand gestures and eyes.

Blink twice to close the app. etc.

BTW it's an Apple Logo

Lol. If there is anyone on this site that didn't know the invite was an apple logo, they need to banned for life. smh.

By your logic, Tim can never sell his shares if you believe the stock price will continue to rise. At some point, you have to say "that's high enough" and sell because really, what good are stock options if you can't exercise them?
