+1. At this point we just need to wait on the Consumer Reports test and see how it compares to other phones. The current test by the guy bending phones by hand is not a scientific test. We have no way of knowing what Apple considers "good enough" in their lab either. Apple will never release hard data from their testing or compare it to competing models.

Since when has consumer reports ever been biased free when it comes to Apple? And does anybody even really care about them anymore? They wouldn't recommend the iPhone 4 but that hasn't stopped Apple from selling a crapload of phones quarter after quarter.

Also ignorant statement 100%

A 80 pound girl wearing SKINNY jeans
can / could / WOULD WRECK the Iphone from stress flex JUST AS EASY

Suggest you wise up

A boney ARSE will bend a phone FAR FAR FASTER than FAT will.

Fat is a CUSHION, bone is NOT

You're 100% right.

Instead of giving out free phone bumpers like in antenna gate, I think Apple should give out butt bumpers.

Here's an example:

I can't help but feel sorry for Apple, the stock is it a 3% low and I assume this whole bendgate and software issue is the cause.

I also think the video of the dodgy dude in the cap is a setup, probably funded by rivals. Ive only seen 3-4 images of bent iPhones and the media have jumped on it for a cheap story based on internet rubbish.

All phones similar to the iPhone will bend after some pressure but really, who on earth sits on their phone or forcibly bends it? If only people actually used a bit of their common sense and chose to create their own opinions rather than follow those of the media...

I hope it all somehow becomes a positive story and leads to more sales for Apple. So far they've had loads of free (negative?) press.

Im tempted to try and start a 'things i love about my iPhone campaign'.

This isn't 1997.

Was it the same reviewer? Let's not forget it was the Verge that called iOS 7 "simply confusing" 15 minutes after the WWDC keynote ended.

Different reviews, same editors.

I tend to avoid the Verge for their live coverage of events. They add stupid commentaries that make no sense at all. If you think the keynote with Apple was negative, you should just read the one with Samsung.

The stock market as a whole was down today. Both Google and Microsoft were down over 2%.

Consumer Reports is about as bias-free as your going to get. Sure they might not be perfect, but they are not hired by Apple or competitors and they don't have advertising accounts. Personally I'll be very interested in what their testing reveals either pro or con.

I can't stand the Verge but I don't believe for one minute they have an Apple bias, at least not in their everyday reporting. Google gets much more favorable coverage than either Apple or Microsoft does.

If this is a real issue,as of today there will be many posts about this with a plethora of independent photos and videos by MR members.
Any post where those are collected???

The place I come to for a giggle and to laugh my socks off at all the ridiculous "news", is MacBloomers. The show I watch to get serious, INTELLIGENT, balanced insight and discussion about all things Apple, is "MacBreak Weekly". A few hundred thousand of you might like to take a day off the forums, and go and watch a few of the episodes - they make most other Apple-centric sites look like a bunch of children fighting in the sand pit.

And also, let's not forget that most of them use Macbooks. I for one agree that Macbooks are the best laptops but to say that the Verge is biased towards Google is far from truth.

Who cares?

So the new iPhones may or may not bend more easily than every other phone on the market? Will that stop you from enjoying yours? Does the apple brand taking a little hit mean that much to you?

Its obvious that image and perception is much more important to many than the product itself.

I remember when the iPod Touch 5g came out there was a similar brouha about them bending. I have been carrying mine in my front pocket for ~2 years and have no problem.

You can abuse anything

I guess there is no way to convince you to the contrary.
