Apple Issues Invitations for October 4th iPhone Media Event

I guess it's time to warm up the credit card.

On a side note, it's going to be a nice week for me - Oktoberfest closing ceremonies (i.e. piss-ups) this weekend, Monday's a public holiday (German Reunification-Day), and then there's a new iPhone announcement as I sit at work to liven up my Tuesday.:cool:

Hopefully it'll be released around the 15th.

I've already got a price for my iPhone from Gazelle.com so I've got to send it back by then to get my $342 for my 32GB iPhone 4.

I don't know how many days I can handle being back to a flip phone...

Awesome.

Really looking forward to the event. Whether they release a "4s" or iPhone "5", it's going to be a legitimate combination with iCloud and all of the goodies in iOS 5.

I'm not sure what the "1" indicates...it could just mean 1 new iPhone or new iPhone in general and then the "1 more thing..." as a previous poster just indicated.

It would've been more exciting if they would've put a 2 by the phone icon, but there may indeed just be 1 iPhone.

Because it's the issue is the implementation, not ticking off the box. Even the current iOS devices have voice stuff but if the new one Siri-derived, that's a different implementation.

It's reminds me of people saying "Symbian and Android had copy&paste for years and now Apple caught up" when iOS first got the copy&paste. The iOS implementation was so much more pleasant to use. Symbian's C&P is terrible and even Android's isn't as nice even after the improvement made in Gingerbread.

It was down voted because it has no relevance to the conversation. What value did it bring? For that matter, what value did your comment bring? Or either of mine so far in this conversation. They should be down voted too. In fact I am going to down vote your comment and both of mine.
 
Hmm just a day later they could have it on the 5th.

iOS 5, iPhone 5, A5 on October 5th.

So how plausible is the 10/14 date for actual product if they're announcing it on 10/4? Is it more likely pre-sales 10/14, with actual product in November?

Say whatever you want about Android, Google Navigation is the best navigation product on the market for smartphones. It has been the one thing that Apple has really failed to even compete with on any level. Hopefully they'll remedy that soon.
 
Maybe the "1" stands for the one and only...Steve Jobs, who will make a surprise appearance and announce the new iPhone.
